Asking for a friend but does NY state honor Military Police as law enforcement and do they automatically qualify for a concealed permit here in NY??
Wtf NY really does suck I can hardly believe they even get away with the gun laws they have.
Some states you don't even need a permit for concealed carry anymore.Ummm NY isnt really alone in that.
They need at least ten to qualifyHighly doubt they can get LEOSA certified as a junior enlisted warrior, might have better luck if they retire as military police or separate after 10 years in good standing. If they’re living in NY they would still need a NY permit to BUY a pistol.

So it is no longer at the discretion of the command? What is the approval rating? Would a reservist MP vs Active have any effect of the approval?Yes/no. I went through this years ago. Real pain in the ass.
First off, there is no separate ID card for MP's. Most Local Commanders will not do the paperwork that is needed to allow a Military cop to carry outside of work.
The U.S. Army is now processing Law Enforcement Officer Safety Act (LEOSA) packets through its contract firm Defense Consulting Services, LLC. The FY13 National Defense Authorization Act expanded the definition of qualified military law enforcement officers (LEO), under the authorities of the LEOSA (Title 18, Chapter 44, Sections 926B and 926C). The definition of qualified LEOs now includes law enforcement persons with apprehension authority making Military Police (MP) and Department of Army Civilian Police LEOSA eligible. Upon approval, the law authorizes qualified LEOs, both active and retired, to carry concealed firearms in all 50 states except where prohibited by other federal or state laws. In July 2015, the Army selected a contractor to process LEOSA actions. This program is open to MOS/Branch 31A, 311A, 31B, 31D, 31E, 31K, active duty, retired (including MOS 95 series) and qualified separated personnel. A handgun qualification is not required for processing the application but is mandatory to have when carrying using the LEOSA card.

NYS constitution: "The right to keep and bear arms CANNOT be infringed." They can call their legislation to be law all they want. I will not comply.Wtf NY really does suck I can hardly believe they even get away with the gun laws they have.
Revival!
Interesting that LEOSA doesn’t override bullshit like state magazine size restriction.
Cross into NY with your LEOSA credential and you drop to ten rounds.
