Ok I came across a very bizarre story.
I can only draw 2 conclusions. They are both frightening but in different ways.
It's entirely possible we either just dodged a false flag attack that would have been blamed on the national guard

Saw that last night, my money's on infiltrating and firing on citizenry (doesn't matter who). Anyone in law enforcement, keep your eyes open, it's easy to play dress up, right down to the badges (for larger depts any way).

an unfortunate black man (who is being arrested for felony counterfeiting) with a criminal history of multiple felonies including robbing a pregnant black woman by pointing a gun at her pregnant belly, dies during arrest and all hell breaks loose.
A white man with a mental illness dies during arrest from the same pinning technique along with being injected with heavy sedative, while officers are laughing at him the whole time, and no one ever hears about it. The press is quiet, social justice warriors are quiet , no civil rights probe, no grand jury, no charges, no protests, no reporters, no vigils, no marches, no memorials, just crickets .... the hypocrisy on many levels stinks.

I mean, it does happen.
I'm not saying anyone in the police here would do it.
But there's a lot of stories.
I think sometimes it is a situation of getting carried away. Of group think.
Officers need to be held to high standards. They need to be under extreme scrutiny just like ab emts, doctor, etc.
The problem is, the ones who do everything right and really try to help are forgotten.
We appreciate those trying to help the old lady, save the cat in the tree, get the alcholic to rehab. You're irreplaceable.
We also need to respect them, and we the people need to be respected. I wish I knew how to get the mutual respect back.
I've been on both sides. I've had some officers harrass me, and treat me like a second class citizen. I would prefer to not go over the details here.
I've had some be respectful and professional. That's all I really ask.
I've had some that went beyond that and came across as nice people. Some, have even struck conversations about shooting, weight lifting (they could see my belts, etc.) , or fishing. They knew I was just a guy with a headlight out. They treated me like someone who is part of their community. I appreciated that.
I even had a pair give me a big break. I didn't forget that, and they never had to see me again. (I was in college.)
So no, not all are bad. Do we maybe need some reform? Sure. Maybe some different recruitment processes, or certain other programs. Maybe they are overworked and burn out rate is too high. Hell, I get burned out at work and get downright nasty at times.
No one should be burning, killing, or looting.
I'm sad for our country.
Yet I'm also happy to see people standing up. Normal everyday armed men protecting their neighbor. Everyday people protecting police. Police helping people who maybe just 30 minutes ago were trying to hurt them.
We need to get out identiy back, our respect, and our families. A lot of bad behavior in our society starts at home.
