I want to a nice trigger, a match barrel and an RMR. What was the company you posted last time that does the cutouts? I want to check them out again. I have to decide what RMR I am buying first though right?

Go with either a RM06 or RM07.

And I am getting my barrel/slide work done by Mod-K Armory (I hear great things along with the ones below)

But primary machine, jagerwerks, and battle werks are top notch (there are so many others as well)

Trigger check out Overwatch, they have a few to look at, I also love my agency arms, and I did finger fuck my buddies apex which was nice but I think they are ugly but that's meh.



As for buying an RMR first, that would help with a more precise cut but not needed at all, you can get the RMR cut first, (also look for good back up sights) and have a cover plate that fills in the milled spot until you want to add the RMR see below picture

So RMR is Trijicons Red dot, stands for Rugged Miniature Red dot. All Trijicon RMRs are red dots. But not all red dots are RMRs.

The RM06 and RM07 are two of the types of RMRs (there are a few which doesnt help lol) but the 06 and 07 are adjustable brightness with buttons (they do have auto adjust but that has downsides, and fiber optic which is known to be hard to see sometimes) so the 06 has a 3.25 MOA dot and the 07 is a 6.5 MOA dot,

The 06 will always be better for precision but eilm show more movement and the 07 will be a little easier when learning and wont see as much of the hand shaking (things that iron sights dont show as prevalent)

Make sure to keep back up suppressor height sights, they really do help with the somewhat large learning curve of handgun optics. If and when you do put one on, take the time to just practice presentation even from a compressed ready to find the dot...

I shoot with a vortex quite a bit and really like it. I prefer shooting with the vortex over the RMR, but if I were buying for a carry pistol I would likely choose the RMR because it is the toughest. Another decision you would need to make is the MOA size of the dot.

That's what I'm using. I really like the sight picture with it. There have been issues with the lens falling out. The good news is vortex has stood bye their product and replaced the ones that it has happened to. I have heard or any recent issues with this, so they might have fixed the issue. Besides the ruggedness issue the only other advantage the RMR has is you dont have to remove the optic from the gun to change the battery.

There is also the rms shield. I think I will be putting one of their compact versions on my 43.

Oh or GSSF factory and unlimited (I think that's what they call the open class) like I know I really want to do the GSSF in September, and I know I will 100% have to be in the unlimited, unless I can budget a new G17 slide (and probably new set of sights)

So for a gamer gun there really isnt any advantages with the extra cost of the RMR, while the RMR will work just fine/good/great there are other great options like the Delta Point Pro, vortex venom/viper I will never understand the difference but there is one lol or eve the new holosun.

Lot of people like the vortex I dont have any personal experiences with them, only red dots i have played with is the RMR and Burris Fast Fire 3

And also being for a game gun, mounting options are a bit more plentiful depending on what holsters are allowed you could just get a mount vs milling the slide (frame mounted is the best option as far as being able to get back on target faster but limit holster options and are much larger)

I definitely am considering just using a mount. I don't think I want backup sights anyway. This gun will NEVER be used off of the range unless someone breaks into my house while I happen to be putting it back in the safe and I have a magazine right there loaded. lol

So those mounts that slide on are nice and secure? It looks like most of the competitions at my range start with the gun laying unloaded on a table anyway. I'll probably pick up an appropriate holster eventually, but it doesn't seem imperative. The belt with mag holders is more important.

If you are ok with dropping the coin, frame mount is the best way to go, otherwise a dovetail mount isnt a bad option. Also look at the c-more optic

haha, why did you hate it?

I have to admit, I was a little peeved after I got the 19x and the 45 came out, however, I prefer FDE over black anyway.

Got enough Christmas money so far to pick up my Vortex Venom. I’m going with the Lone Wolf for the slide cuts. Looks like they only charge about $100 if you get no backup sights.

Good stuff, is the slide refinish included in that price as well (I haven't checked lone wolf in some time, but I know they are a good quality company) I know some do and some charge extra. If they dont see if they will cerakote for a fee if not see if you can find someone to do it, its worth the extra $60+/-
