Well I'll be dipped! I had been considering offering mine up fornthis treatment but its a PITA to transfer rifles and I don't want to be without it that long.
As for its performance- Eh, about what I expected. There really are a bunch of ingress points at the ejection port so I was not at all surprised at how it did though it did fair better than all the other standard AKs and it was starting to work itself clear until the obligatory second dunking.
For me the Ace made it bones when I took it out to one of Ben's carbine classes where it performed exceptionally well, including being laid, dropped, dragged and rolled in the pebbly dirt at Pitcairn Sportsmen's.

Honestly I dont see many situations where a rifle will need to be 100% on this mud test to be thought as a good rifle.

Can it pass the mortar test? Bolt open, dunked in a wheelbarrow of fresh mortar, then let cure for 24 hours and tried again.

I do enjoy these videos, though. it is interesting seeing what these can tolerate.

It did do pretty well,

Yeah basic dry sand tests and rain tests afterwards are all that’s needed realistically. Even a Navy Seal isn’t going to dunk his rifle in mud with the action open after a landing and afterwards back in sand and then back in water.

It just doesn’t happen.

The convoy dust tests they did were both more realistic. Both the AR and AK did perfectly fine in both tests.
