Key or mlok onlycause they are nicer to handle ove the quads. Also they are lighter.
Personally I like the look of the key better.
My only real sripulation is they must have a built in qd mount. I cant believe people ecen make them without a built in qd mount.

No quads for me, too bulky. I like keymod the most but there's nothing wrong with Mlok.

Do you guys like the hand guard to extend to the barrel tip or prefer shorter ones?
Seems like the High Speed guys extend their left arm fully and grab the rifle as far forward as possible.
I have a Magpul MOE on it now and am thinking of a 15" free float ( if it'll fit).
don't know if a new hand guard is a waste of money but they sure do look cool!

I prefer long HG. i usually use 15 inch or longer. If i use a muzzle brake i somethimes will use a 15 inch rail on a 16 inch barrel. Never if the barrel is not threaded.
My competition gun is an 18 inch barrel and 15 inch rail.

Keymod, in the end i think it will win out over mlok.
Quad rails are too heavy as you most likely won't need 75% or more of the length of those rails even if you add 2-3 contraptions of whatever type your prefer.
As for length, most of mine have full/rifle length free floats, but the one I am building now will actually have MOE handguards simply because I want a different look for once. I'm not religious about it, but I do usually prefer to shoot with my support hand as close to the end of the barrel as I can reach.

Full quad rails are too much IMO, allot of bulk, partial quad rails on longer guards I don't mind, with rails located towards the front it's where you would be mounting a majority of your accesses anyway, the down side being profile. Key mod or MLOK both serve the same purpose, custom mounts for both are becoming more available for just about every accessory there is, they offer lower profile mounting solutions, less the rail which saves weight.
I prefer the look of MLOK slots over keymod, functionally they serve the same purpose.
picatinny allows for quick release attachments but you can always add a rail section with key or M if quick detach is needed.

built in QDs they offer a few models. The Javilin would be Perfect if it didn't have th side rails on the front. Top for front sight and bottom for quick detach bipod, sides may be better served with MLOK for low profile mounts. but hey so many different set up and options it hard to please everyone.

My rifle came with a Key mod rail. It's nice and light and easy on the hands but Direct to keymod attachments are just a little bit sparse still. I would have thought we'd see a diffinitive successor to the quad rail by now.
I have a few quad rails, key mods and M loc handguards. I don't attach anything (except a sling or bipod mount) so they are all the same to me.
Weight and diameter are my biggest complaints about full quad rails. For example, I'm looking for something in the 12-13" range for my current build. The DDM4 rail by Daniel Defense is the lightest, slimmest quad and its 12" model still weighs 13.6 oz and is 1.9" W x 2.16" tall (note: the "super light" Seekins SAR quad that JamieZ mentioned is the same weight, but a half inch wider.) That's comparable to the Geissele SMR Mk8, which is one of the heaviest and widest M-Lok/Keymod rails. Most quads are notably heavier/wider and many M-Lok/Keymod rails are notably lighter/thinner. My 12" 2A BL Rail weighs 8 oz. and is much slimmer.
That said, if I were looking for something to take serious abuse, quads would be near the top of the list (though, Geissele SMRs and a few others would be up there, too.) That's why I haven't completely ruled out the DDM4 yet. I'm not a huge fan of KeyMod, but DD's Slim Rail uses the same lock-up mounting system and has a relatively rigid "+" shaped cross section, but is significantly lighter. For M-Lok, which I prefer, I'm interested in Griffin's new Low Pro Rigid rail.
That said, if I were looking for something to take serious abuse, quads would be near the top of the list (though, Geissele SMRs and a few others would be up there, too.)
