Many people are not security conscious enough when it comes to using a safe and properly securing the codes or access keys. For starters, I would venture that most kids could obtain the code by surreptitiously filming a parent opening it.I think the only way anyone can get the combination to the safe (without cracking it) is if someone gives it to them. And the key to the secondary lock on top of that. In the Lanza case it is unclear if the weapons were secured in any way on that day he acquired them.
