My 450 bushmaster pistol adventure

Well I was able to get a lower (Anderson) today (not what I wanted but it will work now as a tester for the process if you will)



And I ordered from PSA their pistol lower build kit with Magpul MOE pistol grip



And over the next couple of months I am hoping to piece to an upper in .458socom for a fun little deer pistol.

Current parts list is

Aero Precision .458 assembled upper (just a standard AR15 upper with ejection port opened up for the .450/.458/50 rounds)

Aero Precision ATLAS S-ONE M-LOK Handguard

Toolcraft 458 SOCOM Bolt Carrier Group

KAK barrel. Really leaning towards 12.5", if I could find a 10.5 thatd be cool maybe idk

Still need to figure out gas block and maybe red dot and big issue what muzzle device to use


In the mean time I also have a 16" 5.56 upper that I'll toss on for fun and I will want to eventually turn into maybe a toy 7.5" 5.56 hahaha for the loud

Correct, but a 10 round 5.56 magazine will fit 3 rounds of .458socom, or a 10 round Lancer magazine modified by Tromix (which I just found out about) will fit 4 rounds

Yea I figured the 5.56 / .458 is a good combo.. 5.56upper with the fixed 10round mag then same mag holds 3-4 rounds of .458 for deer season

Also after more research and some actual reading over at the socom forum and learning more about the compan

Still using the Aero XL upper receiver and their 12" hand guards.

Tromix had a Barrel and bolt combo that I will be using.
(Tromix created the .458 and I can use a 5.56 BCG I have laying around and swap the bolt)

Tromix .875 midweight gas block and their iron sights.

And now deciding between an A1 style birdcage flash hider or the KAK micro flash can (Both 1.75" long)

Well luckily Tromix only sells
4 rounders (standard 10 round 5.56 will load 3 rounds if 450/458 but they modified it with a new follower to stuff 4 rounds in the mag)

7 rounders

And 10 rounders for restricted states

There is nothing wrong with that Anderson lower. It will last you years and years without any noticeable difference between it and another brand except for the price you originally paid.

Oh I know but I love aero stuff Haha plus I want to eventually have a short throw safety and the aero is marked for 45° and 60° throws which not important but looks nicer to me

Did not expect mail call until Monday.

Just in Aero Precision stripled AR15 "XL" upper reciever and 12" Atlas S-One MLOK handguard

Had to run off to work sadly but my super quick look over absolutely awesome. I've wanted these handguards for awhile and decided the 12" would be great for this build and so far I love them..





And mated them up quickly just to get a quick idea


All I have left is.....

1) upper parts kit (aka dust cover and forward assist)

2) Barrel

3) Bolt

4) Gas block

5) Gas tube

6) Muzzle device (probably going w an A2 flash hider)

Oh and the barrel and bolt will be a combo deal

Omg I love it hahaha I need to get a magazine and head out to the range and dick around with the 5.56 upper, but it feels great on the arm and really helps balance out the pistol for one handed shooting

Ok quickly tossed the new handguards onto my new upper and my irons on as well to get a mockup idea of how this build will look when done.

12" handguards will come flush with the barrel, and then about 1.5" worth of a muzzle device

So I will point out I just realized after getting to actually look over my handguards, they do not have any mlok at the 12 o'clock to add any pic rail to the top but I'm ok with it
