Yes and unfortunately unless it's made into a "fixed mag" it will have to lose that purdy little stock.

3. Yeah, laws can be broken. It just means taking 2 cars because a friend of mine is so damn paranoid I am surprised he agreed to ride with my "blue" Ruger 10/22 that he insists is not legal. Well, no pistol grip and no TELESCOPING stock.
But she's 12. And thinks the law is stupid.
And my wife, of all law abiding citizens (unless she's in my Camaro) could care less.

BG helped me build my NY legal AR. It's a sad state of affairs that many FFLs won't even touch ARs.
It may be a good thing that your daughter has discovered that NY sucks at an early age.

There is a handy little item on the market that keeps the bolt release in the bolt back position at all times ... You need to release the bolt for every shot. Very interesting potential compliant fix.
The laws of NYS have always taken a lot of the fun of out of shooting and working with guns for me; simply because the arms most unfairly regulated are both the ones I'm generally most interested in and the ones I've trained significantly with in the past. NY SAFE of course made this even worse, a lot worse really, and has caused my interest to wane overall.
Since then, I've had a good number of people (who know I'm 'the gun guy') approach me and tell me that they're interested in getting into shooting. I think what really disappoints me even more than what I can't have , is having to tell those people what the state says they can't have, and watching them walk away from the whole idea of getting into shooting sports completely crestfallen.
Seems like every damn time. *sigh*

iffy and why bother .. just buy a bolt gun and be safe from the lawyers ... and even if it was fully legal .. ther goes your times having to do something extra while shooting ... in steel is time and hits .. or you don't win ..
