Yeah, I don't think the NYGF mods are in cahoots with the government to track you. While I haven't personally administered a XenForo CMS/Board, I'd wager it has something to do with permission grouping or permission inheritance. Or maybe they don't want a bad actor to go on a delete rampage if a user account was compromised. There is probably a more rational reason besides the forum admins/owners are narcs.
