I’ve heard the buffalo PD knocks on doors within days to come get the deceased guns. It was in the buffalo news so I’m not crazy. I know it says 15 days, but I’ve heard 2-3 days is what they are doing.

Doesn’t mean it’s not still happening. I have heard of it happening after I got my permit. I’ve had my permit for about 2 years. So it’s still going on.Both articles are three years old, but yes, some counties are scum.
Locally, I've seen no problem with months, and even a few years, in reporting the death of a permit holder.

All depends where you live I guess. Buffalo some one checking the obituaries from what I have heard. They must care more about stealing guns than finding murders.
At least their is still some reason leftmin this state.I didn't say it 'aint happening. As I said, around here a person has time without someone banging on the door. Months, I've even seen years without a question asked. Once brought to their attention after that, not a problem. Bring 'em a copy of the death certificate and a receipt firearm disposition and all is well.
