My Senators response to Cuomos insane state budget

“By my count, the Governor is proposing a $1 billion tax increase in his Executive Budget. He says businesses are receiving a “windfall” from the cut in corporate taxes at the Federal level, and so he proposes increasing their taxes here. He says we need revenue so we need to impose $300 million in new taxes on internet marketplaces and discourage Amazon from potentially investing $5 billion in our state and creating 50,000 new jobs with a new Headquarters. He is proposing to delay tax credits that businesses have been promised at a time when his own words describe our upstate economy as “fragile”. People and employers are leaving New York at a record pace because of a lack of economic opportunity and a poor business climate. This budget will make this steady migration into a virtual stampede. I do not support the action by the Federal government to limit the deduction on State and Local taxes because it is unfair to many of my constituents. At the same time, I do not support the Governor’s proposal to use that as an excuse to avoid hard choices. Instead, he is punishing hardworking small business owners with a giant tax hike. If the Governor considers the Federal tax plan an attack on New York and tantamount to a giant tax increase, what then, would he call this?”

Our governor is no longer fit to serve the People of New York. This guy is a lunatic that must be stopped in the next election, if not impeached.

While I agree downstate has some real voting power, he also took Erie County, and Albany County. If the people would just get off of their asses in the rest of the state, cumho would be out on his ass. I realize cumho took a bunch of the other counties, but just think what the actual numbers would have been if EVERYONE in those counties voted. REMEMBER the governor's race is not based on electoral votes (although this is a real example of where electoral votes would make sense!), but actual "hard count" votes. I wish I had a dollar for every time I heard someone in NYS say: "why should I vote, downstate controls everything!". I want to just club them like a baby seal when I hear that.

I fully agre, that the only way to get cumho (AND the rest of the dirty scumbag politicians in NYS!!) out of your life is to GTFO of NYS!!

I was talking to a couple just before the last Gubernatorial election. (my friends neighbors) I didn't know them very well but I knew that they were a gun owners, so I said " in a couple of day's I hope that you two will be voting for Rob Astorino"
( ya know, Cuomo's NY UNSAFE Act and all ) --- And the guy responded,
" We don't waste our time with that, Cuomo has it in the bag , (the other guy) doesn't have a chance".

To top it off,,, at the time when I was having the discussion with them.
I could see their polling station (vol. fire dept) a few hundred yards down the road from us.

SO FRUSTRATING !!!


I should have been out of NY some time ago just like you. Things are getting even worse here in NY.
But the wife doesn't want to move away from her family... I get that,,, but it's getting long past time to move back to SC regardless.

Guys, I took this very seriously. I am retired but my kids are all employed. They will probably be faced with a choice Move with the employer who is Getting TFO of NY. or be unemployed.
If you are between the ages of 18 through 55 you better start converting your liberal friends that this is a tax on all of us as businesses DON'T PAY TAXES! They simply collect them and that Cuomo is unhinged.

Too bad they are right. NYC does have nearly all the voting power in NYS. I still vote and everyone should, but NYC is roughly 43% of NYS population. So what they vote for goes. So between NYC, Buffalo, Syracuse and Albany were screwed. However I think the tide is changing and he maybe voted out in 2018. Even the liberals seem to be hating him.
