Is that there has been communication among the state governor and the leadership of the group of generally anti-2A cities and counties, and these are the results of that. The reason for that communication is due to anyone with half a brain knowing that the CCIA's days are numbered in the single digits.
The downstate counties and NYC are going to institute their own separate infingements, which they already have been doing for generations. There are fewer conservative judges downstate, and cases will have to be brought with a smaller base of plaintiffs.
Upstate will trend back towards status quo pre-CCIA, and downstate will cook up their own insanity county by county as they always have done.

They put this in as Mary Jane is not Federally Legal and the 4473 is prof of this. They are trying to take a page from Hawaii's hand book after they legalized MJ then sent letters to registered gun owners to turn them in due to MJ Card Etc.

This is different and worse. They are making you take a piss test for 12 different tests and what if you are on a prescription opioid? No gun because that’s where this seems to be going. Also the MJ card in Hawaii isn’t mandatory and people chose to apply for it. This test is mandatory if you want a CCW and possibly a rifle soon.

They are not testing for "illicit substances suggestive of criminal activity." They are intent on running toxicology screens on people intent on exercising their constitutional rights (which, by the way, includes the right against self incrimination).
The Nassau County licensing officers are not medical professionals.
They are not trained to interpret the results of medical tests.
They are not entitled to medical records that would justify the use of medications that would show as "positive" in a general toxicology screen.
They are not medically trained to determine whether citizens are being appropriately treated with specific pharmacologic therapies.

Just so all understand I am against this all the way their was an article I read I think in an NRA mag about 5 years ago that outlined this process as NY was trying to pass a law for just these requirements the only thing missing I think is the mental health meeting with a government head shrink for their recommendation. Scary Times !

It does not say where you need to have the test done. For a CDL one has to go to approved sites. This says it needs to be sent in to a certain lab.
