I think he’s just saying it’s a matter of time before it impacts people like you. I only want it to pass for a good ruling for all of us. I don’t want you to get regulated more I want it to push this to the SC for a favorable ruling for the entire USA.The legit difference between you and me and other people like you is that I want good things to happen for you when it comes to this issue. You on the other hand, want bad things to happen to me and others who aren't inherently in your situation or have made life changing sacrifices to get away from that situation.
I wouldn’t say zero chance right now. One bad act and a few politicians thinking they will have to give up their power is all it will take. I think it could pass the house today without this happening but it is unlikely to pass the senate, but you never know. I don’t trust any of them. The republicans have lost nationally pretty bad and if you look at surveys plenty say the people want more gun control and this could be the move they make to stay in power. I too doubt it but they have done some really dumb things lately.Freaking out again, what this forum mostly does. You guys think there are swat team check points on the border waiting to grab you for buying ammo in pa.
This bill has about zero hope right now. Any rational person knows that. We've seen worse come and go.

Yes, unless things drastically change for the better in Washington and our country as a whole, it literally is only a matter of time. We all know this and don't need a childish phrase to be reminded. We all know the federal government may well pass another AWB or worse. All of us who have up and moved also know that the states we have moved to are not immune from political shifting and gun control. None of us need to be reminded of this. That said, at least at this point I have the comfort of knowing that my state, unlike NY, would likely not try to make life harder for me if the feds did pass a new law. In fact they already have passed a law that forbids state and local law enforcment from aiding the feds with gun control. Whether that ends up having teeth or not, at least it's action in the right direction. You won't get that in NY if the feds pass gun control. You'll likely have NY pass more restrictions on top of the federal ones, so yeah, move to a free state. I can't believe I have to say this.I wouldn’t say zero chance right now. I don't think anyone who's moved away, including myself, does either (unless we are talking about putting a swelled headed mall cop named Chev in his place). However, we are a gun forum and we want to talk about guns. I'm not going to keep my guns in NY legal configuation just to be a part of this forum. Lets not start censoring ourselves or using gun ban related pronouns to make people feel better. That's why I don't brag and post all my new handguns and normal capacity magazines. I don't wish to gloat.
If the surveys on gun control are not reliable then how come the one on the number of gun owning houses is? I’m not trying to be a jerk but the gun control that is craved by many is because of how the left and the media put it so it makes sense to me. The people on this board and the way we think and dig into the facts is not normal. I’ve talked with some really conservative rural people who don’t see the need for us to have AR’s and the like. Many think you just need a shotgun for hunting since that’s all you could use for years and years in NYS. I’ve talked with many of the same people who don’t have or don’t bother to get pistol permits because they don’t need one.I would argue the surveys are pretty unreliable. We now know that more than 60% of households now own a gun.
I'm not saying this is you 'cause we've always been cool. this is a general statement:
Wishing the rest of the country to become like NY just comes off as bitter nonsense. Don't be jealous of those of us that could gey out. Even some of the border states are just vastly different in laws. I know everyone can't leave, and my heart is heavy for those that can't. That's why I don't brag and post all my new handguns and normal capacity magazines. I don't wish to gloat.
If it does happen there won't be a grand revolution either. I HOPE I'm wrong ,but I think gun ownership will die in a generation or two with not much more than a peaceful protest here and there and a bunch of bitching and moaning on online forums.
