I've got too many to count, and as posted previously, I'm a bit of a knife snob, lol. Cheap is cheap...!
That said, they all cut the same (if kept sharp). So really is a matter for use and style, or function over form.
Kershaw's that I have are, and have been, workhorses. Benchmade and Spyderco are very good commercial made knives, some variations with excellent materials, but for those you'll pay more.
I would venture more to the $100-150 end and you'll find blades with better steel, locking mechanisms, etc.
My favorite (work) knife is the Spyderco Techno-2 CTS-XHP, it's not an assist opening, but made from tool steel and I've barely sharpened it in the years I've used it. Not even sure you'll find any out there (2012 design), but if you can, is worth it's price.

After losing a few costly knives, I went with a simple Gerber Skeleton knife. You can pick one up anywhere between $12 and $20. I have kept this one in my pocket for over 4 years and use it almost every day. It holds an edge and is fairly easy to sharpen. It is available in both serrated and straight edge.

While I like benchmade I can not say anything good about their customer service. I had the same issue with the clip and I was worried about losing my $240 knife. I emailed their customer service and received no response, emailed again and no response. I commented 2-3 times on their twitter account and no response. I bought a titanium one off amazon for $25.00 and it’s way better than their provided clip.

WOW! Really? I found the total opposite. I have to think here for a minute how long ago it was. Guessing a year from last Oct. so, close to 18mons? Give or take? Was your experience before then? After? My return reply was prompt. Done by email. Even though I knew they were responsible for the faulty clip .....I wrote that I loved my knife and stopped carrying it do to the broken clip. I asked where I could purchase another and the reply said just give us your address and we'll send you another. within 3-4 days I received another with new screws. I replied to same email that it was received and I was carrying again. Mentioned a 2nd time how much I loved my knife and thanked for the excellent service and quality knive. Another reply back ......Thank you for choosing Benchmade we are glad you like our products.I'm truly sorry you had such a bad experience while I feel like I was put in the spotlight while dancing on broadway.
At least the NRA holds on to the tradition of being the worst.
And, you know, that little “anti gun stunt” they pulled a few months ago.

Ya know what? I know how to fix this. Tomorrow I'll stop back at my LGS and pick me out a Spyderco that I just saw @SomeSoldier pop up above my typing. I stopped there today for the heck of it to shoot the shit with my friend, the owner. And while I'm there, I'll put a DP on the heavy 20'' barreled remmy in the Magpul chassis/bipod in FDE. Now don't tell me about the remmy shit. I can't afford the fluted FN SPR that I really want.
At least I can get the .308 remmy and it goes boom.
