About 2 months ago I purchased a new Colt Python 4.5”. I am now looking at a new Colt Anaconda 6”. What to do, what to do?

My father purchased a colt anaconda. It is a massive chunk of steel. Seems very well made. I have no desire to shoot it.

.............Well my two bits is to buy the Anaconda.
How you liking the new Python? I know there were a few issues that needed correction on release and the general consensus is thar Colt promptry did so leaving tge market with a very fine revolver.
I don't own a revolver but I'd like to some day, I think that Python would fit the bill for me.

Get the Anaconda..."f it" as I always say. They are pricey, but will only go up over time. I ran into same dilemma when I bought my S&W 686. I eventually bought the big brother 629. I did sway from S&W wheel guns recently and got a Colt King Cobra.

I know where there is a nice S&W 5” ported 460 available for sale , it comes with 3 boxes of ammo too.

I'd say go for the Anaconda if you want one. Personally, I'd say go for the 8" barrel since you already have the Python with the 4.5" barrel. That extra 2" of barrel length out front will give you more velocity with a .44 Mag, give you a little more sight radius, and control recoil a little better. Since you're already going big, might as well go biggest, I think.

9mm sucks! Just sayin...

And the lack of any trace being left behind, ie, ejected shell casing has more than enough reason to invalidate obsolescence! Let alone when combined with a can... Lmao! You can use your own imagination to put that scenario together where it could be most useful ;)

Revolvers also have the benefit of No magazine springs to wear out, if you get a misfire/dud round you can just keep pulling the trigger to cycle to the next round (no need to practice tap rack bang), revolvers can handle more powerful cartridges and thus are better suited to stopping large game, and revolvers don’t go out of battery like when you push the front of a semi auto into an object.

I will say that revolvers are not the ideal carry gun for most situations as generally speaking semi autos do it better. I’d say that revolvers are obsolescence but not obsolete.
