Need recommendation for a cheek riser

I'm looking for recommendations for an adjustable cheek riser for a 22-250 with a wooden stock and a scope (and a compass in the stock and this thing that tells time.:p) I never had to buy one before so I would appreciate any insight you may have.

Since its a vintage rifle, I don't want something that will require drilling or gluing something to the stock.

First thing that comes to mind is, Do you need a higher comb, or do you need shorter rings ? Most stocks are pretty well set so that your eye aligns with a properly mounted scope. Not always, but most of the time. Maybe you're part horse and have a long face or maybe you're a dwarf and have a tiny head. In those cases, some type of adaptation is called for.

As Kev74 suggests, some of that self adhering bandage would work nicely. If you wanted a harder surface than foam would create, wrap the stock with one layer of the bandage, then cut the plastic container from some Nestle Quick and wrap that in place. It's a perfect shape for the comb.

Do you have any experience with this type of riser? Yes I use it on my .308 works just fine

Lol, no not a dwarf or a horse head :). I thought that the rings may be the issue but I'll only know for sure if I take it to a gun store to get an opinion as to what the best setup would be. Since there isn't a store near me, I'll have to wait until I have the time to go to one. I didn't want to order rings online only to find they were the wrong size for me. Plus that means removing the scope, reataching, etc. It would just be easier right now to get a riser so I can take the rifle to the range and enjoy using it sooner rather than later.

if your looking for a cheek "riser" meaning the scope is to high. the only change to make is to lower rings, but only if there is enough clearance
between scope and reciever.

I don't know if I can get rings lower than this. See images that I just posted and let me know what you think.

Sorry that I don’t know. I’ve only mounted 2 scopes correctly. My 308 I got lucky on the first try picking the size. 2nd I failed on first choice. I used this trick to get it right on the 2nd try
But you will have to remove scope and rings to do it

From what I see rings look like the lowest you can get. So your options are the add on riser or a different stock as mentioned, probably what I would do.

It looks like your scope is as low as it can go.

Your options would be either cheek riser, or a scope with smaller bell on the front.

Thank you. Saves a trip to the gun store to see about the rings. I'm going to go with a cheek riser.
