From the article:
“Police shut down several roads in the area, but all roads have been re-opened.

Officers are searching but have not found any firearms yet. A crisis negotiation team and SWAT team were brought to the scene as a precaution.”

WTF!? For reports of a shotgun in a house? I guess The police needed to dust off some equipment to justify having it.

Guys it’s rather safe to assume there is more to the story with nine cop cars (at least) responding simply because somebody was seen with a gun in their own home.

It's very common for the media to misreport stories, to make it look like you can get arrested just for owning a gun.
Plenty of people who will fall for it. How many of us routinely take the media at their word on subjects we are not too familiar. They lie and misinform pretty much on everything. Politics, world affairs and history.

No, actually, nowadays it is NOT safe to assume anything.
Unwarranted, irrational, and unbelievable overreactions by certain members of the populous have become all too common. In a world where people call the police because their hamburger was made wrong, or freak out because something might resemble the silhouette of a gun, I could seriously believe this response was due to someone's over reaction.

closing off a bunch of streets because someone might have seen something that resembles a gun in someone's home? you honestly can say that should be NORMAL?????

I didn't say it was normal. That's why I think there is more to this story than we're being told. I sure hope there is.

OMG, they actually closed off several roads??? Even IF this was a felon, who shouldn't be around firearms, and there actually was a shotgun (not quite sure how the other guy could tell just by looking through a window, UNLESS he was really "looking"!!), did they really need to close down the "several" streets.
There were no firearms found, yet a person is in custody (I certainly hope it was the nosy EF-er that "tipped" them off!!).

Felon or not, this shouldn't have happened. If he truly did not have any guns in the house, then this is total bullshit!! This can happen to any 1 of us, if some asshole decides to make a bullshit claim on us. It is ridiculous. I don't have the answers, but sooner or later someone if going to get killed with this shit. It may be some poor guy sitting at home with his Family, OR some LEO responding, but either way, .....you can bet it will turn deadly!!

Just heard on the radio the 56 year old man was charged with menacing ? Still no more info other than neighbor seeing what seemed to be a shotgun in the home .
Menacing seems to be a charge that is thrown around Lightly , however it has serious implications.

o wheresthe story! What a load of bs reportage. A ‘person of interesr’, with a shotgun and the army arrives. Why run this at all, other than to gin uo more fear.

My home town is lost down the rabbit hole.
