The charge is filed when a person "intentionally places or attempts to place another person in reasonable fear of physical injury, serious physical injury or death by displaying a deadly weapon."

so what do we get charged with when Im wearing my Glock on my hip while walking through my living room with the blinds open?

Can I have the DA charge the person reporting this "incident" as a peeping Tom? for stairing in my window?

I can attest personally that it’s likely when one files a false or exaggerated report of menacing against another
( which does happen) with no evidence or witness , the burden of proof falls on the accused. Not saying this is the case here but yeah I’m rather skeptical.

So 1 person said he pointed the gun out the window at the house, and the other 1 says they saw him sitting with the gun on his lap!!
Perhaps he was actually sitting in his chair wiping down his gun, before putting it away after a day of shooting, and the 1st person decided to freak out.

If there wasn't neighbor bickering going on before, ya can bet there will be now!! EF-ing snowflake!!

If 1 of my neighbors called the cops on me every time they saw me with a gun in my hands, or sitting down wiping 1 down, the cops might as well just camp out at "Ol' MO's" place. AND the neighbor may want to relocate to somewhere where he would be better welcomed!!

The real problem is people snooping and peeping into other people's dwellings... As the complaint stated "I don't know what's he's doing in there"... Well... You aren't supposed to, it's none of your damned business! And yeah, could see that someone wiping down or cleaning a gun is pointing it away from themselves to check for a cleared barrel. But of course we don't know the "REAL" story as something doesn't add up. I chuckle at the ridiculous extreme reaction these days to everything... Shotgun seen and DOHS responds? How wonderful... So when the real bad guys shown up, they just drop a few dimes before any attack and our assets (anti-terrorism) are misdirected, awesome!

None of my neighbors know I have guns. None. When I go to the range, I don't load my Jeep with my guns in those big plastic "look at me" boxes. I don't put pro gun stickers on my car either. Why? It's no one's business. The only one that'll ever know I'm armed will be one I draw on that means me harm. Period.

I use to clean the family guns on a pick-nick table in the back yard after a range day. My mother hated the smell indoors. Shot bows, BB guns, and paint ball guns at targets next to the garage. in the back yard. My back yard bordered the front of a high school. I carried pocket knives in school, my dean knew i always had a knife on me.

No one rushed to any basements in fear for their lives or arrests made.
