And how exactly is this legit?
And how exactly is this legit?
It's not. This, and others like it will be struck down. States cannot obstruct a federal election system. The dems cannot produce a winning candidate so this is their means of trying to stay in power. And how exactly is this legit?
This is different. Waaaaaaaay different. This is the kind of bs that gets fast tracked to the supreme court. States that do this during a presidential election will have their voting results tossed and be forced to comply with federal election laws.Every one said the same thing about the New York Un-Safe act that was enacted in an late night vote in January 2013 and it still stands effectively stripping us of our rights , this is how they do it ,
It would fall under voter suppression. Since the electors are able to vote either way, this state law is effectively forcing them to vote a certain way.I think this will stick. Electors can cast their votes however they want regardless of how the people vote.
U. S. Electoral College: Who Are the Electors? How Do They Vote?
"There is no Constitutional provision or Federal law that requires Electors to vote according to the results of the popular vote in their states."
The courts will rule on this before the election. There is no way it will stand and there is no way the SC will let it drag out.Libtards are not very smart. Seriously. They are not now, nor ever looking to the long term results of their unlawful changes.
All of this will bite them in the ass. This will not pass muster. This will not go unnoticed by the Courts. This will make it to SCOTUS. By the time the courts rule on this, may be after the election in 2020. An election that Trump will win. What this may do is toss the Presidency into an absolute crisis.
If the Courts do not rule not prior to the election, someone else may win under these bullshit rules. After careful review, that person will be handed a big fat lose. This is going to be a really fun election cycle.

Just what has been going on in the House and our system in general says it all.The fact that we are even having to discuss this means the country is just about lost and is in dire need of a reset.
never happen ...Keep in mind this could just as easily lead to deep blue states casting their electoral votes for the Republican candidate. Especially the way the democrats are going lately.
By there own rule if a Republican won the popular vote they would be forced to cast their electoral for that person.never happen ...

Can pass all the laws you want to try and circumvent the Constitution... but sorry Charlie, only good tasting Tuna get to be Starkist!
Smoke em if you got em...
Yes. In theory the electors are chosen by the party to represent their state but they can vote however they want. If you recall there was a movement to have the electors change their votes and prevent trump from becoming president when the last electoral college met.I think this will stick. Electors can cast their votes however they want regardless of how the people vote.
