New Glock G45

My point was that not having a ton of aftermarket support shouldn't necessarily be a nix to owning a firearm. I have read it many times, "oh but that firearm doesn't have a lot of aftermarket support. Should get a Glock, they have the largest amount of aftermarket parts available."(paraphrasing).

Yeah if I'm going to own a defensive gun that I'm going to shoot thousands of rounds and work it hard in classes and then depend on it I'm going to want something that when I need to get replacement things such as springs or even a barrel or idk sights and maybe even a holster I dont want something that only has OEM that I have to scower the internet for or find the one mediocre company that might make 1 semi ok part

I could care less about glocks. Take they Steyr M9A1, from all accounts an amazing pistol. Try to find a good holster from most reputable companies. Try to find spar parts.

Need a new OEM striker for a glock? Literally 100s of places to order from, at your door 13 hours.

It depends on what you want your gun for. If you want to look at it everyday and admire is sexy lines and robust posterior, a wildcat pistol is perfect. It's great to show off and it's a nice conversational piece at the range. "Is that the new HK XKJ9000? Nice! How's it shoot?"

If you think purely from a combat and logistical perspective and see the handgun as a tool only, the Glock is perfect. "I'm out! Pass me a mag! Got it! Thanks!" That applies to calibers as well.

I've heard that argument before and while I agree with it, I also know that nobody is going to hold a pistol in their hand and admire the texture and feel when you have to use it.

1911's feel better in my hand too but when all is said and done, I can accurately put rounds where I need them under stress at 10 yards and below with a Glock.

I mean thanks to the laws of physics even if it was hollow points they could only expand so much, so the picture is still relevant

For argument sake the pic is not relevent. A good hollow point can expand by 100% so after the expansion the difference will be even greater. Of course only important if one believes bigger bullets are better.

Same crap as far as ratios go. Your body will never know the difference. It either hits a vital or it doesn't. An extra millimeter or so in expansion isn't going to determine whether you live or not. Extra rounds in the magazine may however.

And then you have some 9mm ammo that expands even bigger.

You can cherry pick your stats but in general, but a good expanding 9mm will be about .75 of an inch and a 45 1 inch. The 9mm stars out .1 smaller and .2/.25 smaller after expansion compared to 45. So, the pic posted earlier is not realistic for hollow points. Simple number comparison....
