Welcome. Every pistol I have purchased came with std mags. I just purchased mag blocks and had them install them to make them 10rds.

Morning and thanks! I'm currently looking around for someone in my area who can pin mags. I've also noticed that Walther sells a "dimpled" mag limiting capacity to 10 rounds.

Why not use mag blocks. They make them for just about any mag at any capacity.

MAGBLOCK 10 and 15 Round Limiters

10 round magazine limiters for most rifle and pistol magazines. The original Magblock limiter for Magpul PMags and USGI magazines converts 20 and 30 round magazines to hold only 10 rounds. Useful where regulations and hunting laws limit capacity to 10 rounds.

As long as it's to an ffl I don't see why they wont. If that's the case buy from another dealer. So far I haven't had one say they wouldn't ship whatever I wanted as long as the ffl said okay.

FYI standard capacity mags aren't always illegal to sell in NY... just to us common folk who don't happen to have exemption due to employment or social standing ... so no legitimate reason it can't be sent to an ffl by out of state vendor unless they simply don't understand NY law.

So, I've just gotten possession of my Kimber Custom LW .45 and Walther PPQ M2 9mm and while I waited the (relatively quick?) two weeks for my "green card" to come in the mail, I started buying ammo online at rates that would fall below my local range's prices for a couple of obvious reasons: 'bang-for-buck' and the stash-house. I still plan on buying ammo at the range for local support, but it's nice to have another couple of boxes or so in the pack to keep working with.

I'm hoping to have time either this weekend or next to do the first field-strip and lube, with plans to hit the range as soon as possible thereafter. In the meantime I'll be focusing on getting more familiar with the features/functions of the Kimber mostly, since I've had the Umarex GBB version of the PPQ for quite some time now and very familiar with it's features/disassembly. Mainly practicing loading/unloading the mags and just going through the motions of loading, racking, trigger pull, safety engagement, etc.

I've been through a few of the posts on here, and I'm sure there are things I either am missing, or just haven't mentioned, but anything that particularly sticks out to you, I'd love to hear your takes on what else I could/should be doing during this pre-break-in period.
