That is perhaps the easiest and more forgiving of them all and also very affordable and IMO even more
forgiving to reload than the 223 parent itself.
Very easily gives the 223 an 20-30% increase in horse power w/o investing much.
It stacks perfectly in all magazines and in the 6mm bore you also have all sort of bulk bullet boxes/deals
including match bullets.
I think the sweet spot is 80 to 90gr bullets and in that section you actually have some pretty decent hunting
bullets. the 6mm starts where the 22 caliber ends in terms of hunting assortment.
The 6tcu is another one that is super easy but in terms of reliability I prefer the shoulder angle of the 6x45.

Yes that is one interesting and worth considering vs. the 6.5mm grendel.
But I think if one is going to use alternative cases we should also take a look at the 6mm version of the 6.8 case.
One could make one using 6mm wasp reamer and dies so it is super easy.
I think is is a much better option for the AR because of the stronger bolts and less troublesome with magazines
and feeding although both can work for an alternative caliber.
I also think the 6.8 in a 6mm version would be an excellent round for a service cartridge for any army in the world.
80 to 90gr 6mm bullets moving at 223 speeds will increase the effective range of small carbines from 500 to 700 or even 800 meters
that is more than the 6.8 itself and in short range will be equally effective with less weight or more firepower (bullets) for the same weight.

shoots much flatter. long range ballistics. 6mm has a larger assortment of bullets and 100gr-105gr hunting bulltes is not going to be
very different than a 120gr 6.5mm bullet at slower speed at the average range. The 6mm will hit harder at long range, but lets
be clear, 6mm and 6.5mm is not the ideal bore in terms of serious hunting in the first place and it is restrictive with monolitic or
cnc bullets. 7mm and 30 caliber will outperform the 6 and 6.5 mm at any realistic role when momentum is needed.
also 6mm has amazing bulk deals in bullets you can only find in 22 and 6mm calibers, including match bullets.
The more one shoots the better one gets no matter what match bullet.

This one is too much but will work great wiht extra freebore and OAL in
single stack magazines or in an autoloader with 1 in the chamber and 2 to follow
up for hunting if you want up to 2.35" COAL

I have the single stack mags but one can make one or two very easily for hunting.

If you're not reloading, 6.5 Grendel gets you fairly close to this in terms of performance and wins hands down for availability of cheap plinking ammo.
This will never have cheap factory plinking ammo.
My money goes to Grendel.
