I usually tell the critics that being ready and self sufficient for an emergency can give you more options on how to deal with it and perhaps save your life. Being prepared for power outages, storm issues, flooding, etc. is prudent and smart as I think anyone with any amount of sense would agree. Being prepared for SHTF, TEOTWAWKI, or the Zombie Apocalypse is just taking this to a higher level of preparedness. I always say that if you are prepared for the Zombie Apocalypse, then a power outage or storm is hardly a bump in the road.

What a downhill slide its went.
I was in Scouts for a long time. Our troop was a bit, unconventional lol. Was more of a rag tag group of junior Militia lmao. Our scout leaders were Vietnam vets. We had some wicked campouts all year long. Probably my best memories growing up. Today they'd get banned for life doing what we did. Kinda sad really.
