This this rifht here. Granted I rotate between a P07 and a glock 19 or 17 but the 19 and 17 are well the same gun so that's a wash, and the rotation between a glock and a cz happens once every 6months - 2 years (with adequate transition time)
Trying to carry when in work attire, tucked in polo with work boots. I was thinking about a micro pistol on the ankle. But I don't want to go smaller than 9mm. Plus I took my son to Billy bees yesterday and didn't dare wear my normal pistol. I thi K a micro would have been doable.
I feel the G26 is a home run with its size vs capacity, and this looks to have an advantage. On paper like you said, Sig make nice stuff so I dont think their will be any letdowns.
The overall size is real close to the G26 so likely a non issue size wise, but is a quarter of a pound lighter, thats a big deal.
Then again the g26 can have 10+1 or even 15+1 or 17+1 or 33+1

As we all know not legally in this state. Not relevant if one plans on staying here. This would be a good one pistol for almost everything in NY. It has a rail unlike the g26 (not a standard rail though). The Sig comes with night sights installed. If one is objectively comparing this vs. the g26 I can't see where the glock has an advantage. Other than aftermarket products. They will sell a ton of these (if they actually work).

And it's magazines are compatible with PCC's. Aftermarket support will always be better.
When I had an XDS which is about the same width as this new Sig, I was able to conceal it just the same as the Glock 26. A quarter inch in thickness really makes no difference under a shirt.

I will. It wouldn't work for me unless they make AR lowers that accept those Sig magazines. That's my go to setup.

Has a rail +1 for the sig... this gives you the ability to run a light (lets not count the one that you can put on the g43 g26 or shield)
Has night sights..... well if you have a rail then you can put a light on so night sights are kind of not needed right? ok so dont run the light, well dont need the rail then... so one or the other is kind of a wash...
aftermarket parts..... glock mags dime a dozen. sig mags your soul.. (oh and look at the CZ p10c fiasco, not only will mags be expensive but they will also be nonexistent)

I for one would change Sigs night sights to the ones I like so that's a non issue.
Streamlight makes a nice light for the g26, so a wash on the rail. I agree on paper the Sig has the advantage, likely not enough for me to dump a G26 to get one. Unless someone was willing to buy all the G26 stuff at a reasonable price. I think this could be a Glock Killer and thats funny to say because we have heard that many times before. Until now the G26 was in a class of its own imo.

You want to talk German Sigs, no argument at all, but IMO the amount of MIM parts in an US Sig is a joke when you consider the premium price they're asking.

dont get me wrong im not knocking this gun, i think it might actually be a semi (hate to use this term) game changer. but i personally dont see much advantage this gun has.
its a shame glock didnt back in the 80s decide to use a standard metal magazine design vs the polymer cased metal sleeves. this would have deff kept glock in the running for comfort and size. but its to late for them to change now

***edit*** even the MIC holster website list it fits all glock sizes but only goes 9mm .40 .357 .45 (excludes g42 and 43) leaves out the 10mm
Yes trigger guard holsters are compatible, and the smaller pistol can fit in the larger holster. The larger frame doesnt fit into a well formed smaller framed holster. Cant say I tried a lot of different holsters but a few.

I love the oh glock doesnt give you night sights.. ok so they keep their cost down knowing that most people are going to change the sights out to what they prefer (notice how sig is getting hella 90s HKish with the proprietary shit) so ok anyone have these Sig designed night sights (not saying they are trash) but are they as nice as say trijicon HDs for a small example, sorry if i can get a gun for $100 less then take that $100 and put on the specific sights that i want to run ill do that. on the flip side you have those who dont really care what sights they have they just heard glock sights suck (they do) but would more than likely leave them on if they bought a glock so the idea of getting these with night sights already they in their mind saved money (not that they were going to change out the glock sights in the first place)

A vendor I think it was the Sig forum was taking preorders for $499 and MSRP of $599 so its really no more expensive than a g26. Buds has G26 at $550 so maybe the Sig it the value. Im starting to feel like a p365 salesman. lol For me who has a g26 with high quality holsters for iwb, owb and ankle the only place the Sig would make a real difference would be on the ankle due to the weight difference. Im sure the reduced weight on the belt would be nice but not the end of the world. And yes my 26 has HD sights they rock. If I were buying and didnt have a 26 the new Sig would get a hard look.
As far as the rail on the Sig being propriety no issue imo, not sure how many would actually use it and I bet the aftermarket will support it.
dont get me wrong as i dont think this gun is going to be a fail, its probably going to be really nice if they figure out the loading issues, and figure out how to get the magazines down to a reasonable price (one of the few reasons i actually put my P-07 back into the safe and the Glock 17 is now my EDC, $50 for a magazine is just insane) but things like game changer or home run is a bit of a stretch, and thats for any gun to ever come out now. everything is pretty much the same and most changes are minute once you actually look past the flashy new new of it. yes its exciting, yes its super small, mkay give it a while and then the G19 and SW 2.0 will still be the best selling EDC guns out there

Did you look at the specs of the two compared guns above (most importantly the width and barrel length)? If you search around the interwebz you will see that you can use a g26 holster to fit a g29. But there are plenty of holsters made specifically for the 29 anyway so this is a moot point. The original thing in contention was that the 26 wasnt the same size as the 29. Now if you want to say that a couple of mm (literally) difference isnt the same size then fine. But then the g26 and this new sig aren't either.
Here in NYS a G19 is real big to tote around when loaded with only 10 rounds. Yea, mag for Sigs tend to be more expensive but it comes with 2 and I dont feel I need a pile of Mags. 4 would be more than enough for most 2 for carry and 2 for range use, but thats subjective. Myself I dont carry a reload so 3 would be enough. A game changer for a guy that typically caries a little 380 but sees the little extra size and weight worthwhile when considering 10 rounds of 9mm. Their marking is all day every day for a reason, a ton of people arnt willing to lug around a G19 with 2 extra mags. Im guilty of not carrying nearly as often as I can because I dont deal with it and dont feel I will likely need it. I know I will be called a sheep or a fudd(probably true). When I bought an LCP a buddy at the range gave me a hard time until I reminded him that the 380 in my pocket is better than his 45 in the safe.
Again just my opinion not right or wrong. I think we all will agree that it is fun seeing the new stuff coming out. Hopefully some one will show up to the range soon and let me try it.

not sure why people think that the only advantage to a G19 is 15 rounds, and being in new york losing 5 rounds negates the rest of the guns advantages (granted yes im against magazine limitations but thats not going to stop me from carrying a G17 or G19) and yea i would like more than 2 or 3 magazines, when i go to the range (that previously mentioned magazine cap of 10 rounds) it sucks having to load 2 or 3 magazines over and over and over not to mention since magazines are the major contributor to an auto loading pistols malfunctions, having 2 get used over and over and over dropped loaded unloaded and beat on kinda leaves me wanting to have extra for when that shit fails (not if but when)
oh and i dont carry a spare g17 magazine for the ammo, i carry it because its easier to grab than even a 19mag (even if just a little) and having a spare mag helps in the off chance of a malfunction
