It takes a while to visit all the firearms stores in NY and go through each 4473 to see what type of firearm was bought. I bet in a couple of years after the goon squad has all the info they need about who bought an "other" type of firearm, the doors will be kicked in.

There is no "other" on the 4473,it simply asks what type of firearm was purchased , handgun or long gun.

"Other" means someone purchased an AR lower. It could be built as a pistol or rifle.

But in NY, since SAFE, they would have had to go through another FFL to sell, so if they have a complete database from all the FFLs, they van get a decent idea who has them.
They can get a warrant to search for pot because your electric bill went up, don't think they couldn't do this....

This is totally legal to do no matter what SAFE says.
Example. I go to a range in PA. Guy like my rifle. I say cool. It's yours for 800 bucks. We drive to the gunshop, pay the transfer fee and be on our ways.

They will claim that that happens so infrequently that they have probable cause for a search warrant.
There are plenty of legal reasons your electric usage can go up too, but it doesnt stop them from getting warrants.
I've got a server and a couple routers running in a corner of my basement, If someone wanted I am sure they could get a thermal image, and an electric bill, and get a warrant to look for pot.
The 2nd amendment isn't the only one that is under assault.

They don't bother with electric bills around here, just a Blackhawk and thermals. Seen 'em doing it a couple years ago and a guy not too far from here got roped lol.
Pretty bad when you have to claim you broke your Other trying to assemble it and threw it out. Then I guess it better not be in your home.

They can search all they want. What they cannot find, they cannot find. Sure. My safe is right here. In it you'll find a mini 14 and a few registered pistols.
Where's the other 2 pistols? I have them locked up out of state in my family's home. The rifles? Sold!

Yep, after a pretty hefty lawyer bill, you'll get all of them back, eventually.
The only way to avoid the pain is to not end up on the radar to begin with. All the efforts at compliance do is get you a little lube when they screw you.

You're right, it is a long shot now. But if someone told you "background checks for ammo" a few years ago you would have thought it was crazy too, and while they haven't completely materialized now they certainly seem a lot less far fetched.
in a SHTF would be a different scenario, for sure there would be no more mag lock.
yeah I'm thinking of getting some, maybe 10+ ? but I would like to read an up and personal review before getting it

If your rifle has a normal ability to accept magazines and detach them, would you load one regular stripper clip as pictured below with loose rounds at the range and then load your magazine? Most wouldn't. Why with this device?
Most would however load a bunch of these stripper clips at home to save time at the range. For this to work, you need lots of them.
Just buying one or two is silly and counterproductive unless you are embarrassed to pull the rear pin, crack your upper shotgun style and reload.
So in essence, these are just 40 dollar stripper clips for fixed magazined rifles. You need many to get any benefit.

I wasn't aware of the update on their web site, but I did email them yesterday morning letting them know that I was none too happy about not receiving an email update from them since the second ship date has come and gone. I did suggest that if they weren't going to make good on their promises soon that I would have to consider contacting my states attorney general.
I received a rather dickey reply back this afternoon from "Tommy" accompanied by the statement posted on their site.
