A guy at the range bought a 308 model with the match barrel, he competes in cmp matches. His targets look like he is patterning a shotgun. It’s been back twice for repair. I have seen him shoot his m1 so I know it’s not him. Apparently the newer built rifles have been hit or miss. I would be worried about spending that kind of money and getting a rifle that shoots like crap

I'm not sure why they're making a rifle variant whose action isn't all that accurate for such a high performance oriented round. Even with the national match barrel, embedding and shit its not going to compete purely because of the way its designed. I only have an M1A because a NY compliant AR-10 is ugly af. Its a great rifle and all but it definitely doesn't drive nails. My best groups are only 1 inch at 100yrds and I don't even have the match barrel, just the embedding.

Over priced, way over priced. You can build a 6.5 cm AR for half that and it would probably be more accurate and weigh less. I've seen BNIB Ruger PR in 6.5 go for less than $1k.

In some fairness to Remington there is a distinction between spotty QC and outright betrayal. I may very well give 700 a shot. I will never give anything from Springfield Armory or Rock River Arms a chance, not ever.
