I wouldn't waste my money on a dan Wesson and until sig gets their QC in check a p365 either.
Also I'm not a snob I want a hi point for the lulz and they just work, good fun range toy

I think I need to point out the only thing they did wrong here was add a grip safety.
Otherwise hi points get great marks in reliability and the customer service and warranty is supposed to be awesome, one might even say they are "innovative".
If I ever find one for say $100-$125 I'd for sure snag it up

I tell you what, I wanted a cheap 1911 so I went with a Ruger SR1911 and couldn't be happier.
I bought a Ruger 1911CMD when they 1st came out. I'm not sure how many rounds I've put through it, including pretty much ALL ammo manufacturers, and my handloads, and it is stellar. It hasn't given me not 1 hiccup that I can recall. It is accurate, and ends up going to my range with me pretty much on every trip I take.
I would even go so far to say it was my best gun purchase so far, and that's saying a lot given some of the guns I've acquired.

Depending on what you are looking for. Only 1911 I would really ever be intrested in (currently) would actually be a 2011 and a race gun and would probably lean to an STI
