So, I stopped by my County Clerk this afternoon, and asked my standard question... any update on the recertification process. To my surprise, she said yes.

Supposedly this just got posted up online today and letters to permit holders are going out now.

This system does not process recertifications for New York City, Nassau County, Suffolk County or Westchester County permits. If you currently have a New York City, Nassau County, Suffolk County or Westchester County permit, you must follow the requirements that are in place in your county, rather than use this recertification system.​

If I were you guys I would not recertify anything unless I got a letter stating potential revocation. Unfortunately for us down here we already had a five-year recertification requirements with no way around it.

If there was any doubt that permit info would show up connected to your driver's license, this system removes all doubt. You start the process by entering all your DL info. FUAC.

If your permit was issued before January 15, 2013, the deadline to submit your recertification is January 31, 2018.

when I do get around to this bull shit, Im going to use hard copy and snail mail......registered snail mail, so there will be no doubt they got the form

Does the "re-certification" include the NYSP completing a new NICS check on each PP holder? Is that the point, to catch people who are no longer eligible - or is the point to make a new database that they have control over?
