NICS red flag multi-gun purchase?

How does the NICS check work if a person buys multiple guns at one time? Are there any particular thresholds? Does any extra info/paperwork get sent to the feds if multiple guns are bought? Is there any increased probability for a delay/denial if one buys 6 guns vs just one? Handguns any different than long arms (reporting or thresholds)?

How about NYS? Does any additional info/paperwork get sent to NYS if a certain number is reached at one sale?

The NICS doesn't know if you purchase more than one gun on a 4473. The FFL will have to fill out a multiple handgun purchase form and send it to the FBI if you purchase more than one handgun in a week.

More than 10 long guns also triggers an FBI flag.

Edit this appears only to be for the four border states with Mexico. So multiple long guns in NY doesn't matter,

No delay. Yet.
But are there any other extra forms or reports besides the over-one-handgun-a-week-to-the-FBI form?

the last transfer i did was for 14 firearms...i haven't had any issues.

Ive never done a single handgun transfer. has always been 2 to 4 at a time. Nary a visit from anyone except my landlord and fire dept for fire alarm checks

Hell..even the AOWs are coming in multiples

I heard someone say if you buy 2 long guns within a 5 day period, it gets flagged as well. Not sure how true that is, its always been more then 5 days between whenever I bought long guns.

Multi purchases of long guns does not get flagged unless you are in one of the state's that border Mexico.

That is true, there is a box the FFL has to check off as to whether it's a long gun or handgun. No mention of how many or make and model of gun though. Multi purchase form is only done on handguns and another form for every handgun, whether it's one or ten, goes to the state.

i did six guns at one time, i am not sure why the black sedan followed me for a month, but it still took about a month to get my Property from my FFL!
