Well looks like if you get a delay on your next purchase be prepared to wait 30 days instead of 3

It's a very popular chain of stores Criminals are usof course, because all criminals go to FFL to buy their guns.

Ahhh....the efficiency of the U.S. governmental bureaucracy. This is the same government that the Liberal Progressives want to wholly control health care in the U.S.This is something that should take a few hours to rectify but it took a few years.
Same here, out of the blue, denied, same explanation, took about 18 months, I still get delayed almost every time.Heres a story that kinda fits this thread.
Ive been buying guns for 40 years.
Ive never had a felony or serious offense. I have had one issue in 47 years of living....a DUI when I was 18. I have not had so much as a parking ticket sinse...not a speeding ticket, nothing in 30 years.
In 2014 I got my pistol permit.
I bought several pistols through 2014 and early 2015 with no problems.
In March of 2015 I went to buy another handgun and wss DENIED.
I asked the FFL what to do now. He said call this number, hire an attorney and good luck.
I thought he was being dramatic.....he was not.
I called the number, gave them the NTN number the FFL gave me. They could not do anything over the phone so I had to write to the FBI NICS to request a reason for the denial. In 5 days I recieved a very basic letter saying something like " your name is similar to a prohibited person."
It also stated that it could be a federal reason or a state reason.
I spent the next TWO FUCKING WEEKS trying to straighten it out with the NYSDOC and FBI. They had me sent my fingerprints to the FBI at my own expense. No problem, I know plenty of cops who roll prints.
I waited another month, then spent $2000 on a lawyer who specializes in 2a.
Getting everything straight between NYS and the FBI is a horrifying and long process.
Anyways, even with the lawyer getting everything straightened out, I still had to wait for the NICS to get to my appeal.
In December of 2018 I got a letter from NICS simply saying, " you are not a prohibited person" and "free to purchase firearms".
No explanation at all whatsoever.
So, from March 2015- December 2018 my rights were removed because of a mistake on the FBIs side.
I wanted more of an explanation and maybe even compensation from the FBI.
My laywer said that would be a very expensive journey, with a very slim chance of success.
This is something that should take a few hours to rectify but it took a few years.
Yep, ive been delayed to the 3 day limit on every purchase sinse December 2018.Same here, out of the blue, denied, same explanation, took about 18 months, I still get delayed almost every time.

Ive heard everything from your story all the way to a guy I know who waited 2 years for his appeal and it came back as DENIED again. He is now in the second year of his second appeal. He also has zero disqualifying issues on his record.Same here.
They even made my wife turn in her permit.
No attorney.
Contacted court from 25 years ago.
Set of prints were “unadjudicated” in the fucked up FBI system.
That’s when I got the UPIN.
Permit office said they never saw anything like it.
Took only six months and $0

I know 4 people who have been wrongly denied and just heard of a few more in this thread. This is exactly why I can’t stand when people say “ well I’ve never had a problem “ . Yeah I’ve never had a problem with NICS either , however I know many people do and that’s a problem !

The passage of this law is another reason to move out of NYS. How many laws will it take before people wake up? Cuomo will not stop. Get out and enjoy the sweet smell of freedom!
