Night hunts, Preds...

Going out by myself Wednesday for Coyote to test myself, Not done it in few years, I LOVE the adrenaline RUSH and scare at night, to cool... More fun with a buddy but.... Taking shotgun with no#4 Buck, Wanted to wait till 25th for Fox to open, but getting soft in old age, not so sure I want to shoot Fox anymore. Love to watch them here around property, feel kind of bad looking at so many furs I have taken in years, I'm a softy now, So Coyote only now. I feed the Squirrels in yard, can't shoot them now either. I'm 2A ALL the WAY !!!! But soft on hunts now, Deer for jerky, Yotes to Keep in line for my hunting now.

Been out once already for coyotes. Sat calling for a half hour and saw no eyes. Decided to call it quits and as soon as I went to pickup the caller,,,,,a set of eyes started coming at me about 100yds away,,,it saw me and turned and booked.

204 or 223, Primos Alpha Dog electronic caller and a Mojo predator decoy ( MOJO Critter Predator Electronic Decoy ) plus a red scanning led light and a bright red led gun light

Since safe act, I now only use shotgun, no#4 BUCK. Short time out testing mouth calls, 7 stops, 3 produced reds, one was a gray. no Yotes seen or heard. Today in bow stand hit a Yote with bad shot, hair, no blood with arrow. I suck now lol... Old eye's vision in peep site is a bitch !!! Soooo pissed off drinking beer, time to admit my age? grrrr

I could show ya pics and tips of many furs in past, but now I"m just washed up LOL. I can still arouse them in curiosity to bring them in to gun point but I'll be damned if I can hit anything any more LOL...

Getting old sucks, At 53 people tell me that I am not old, but my eyesight disagrees. LOL

As a younger man I hunted most any mammal that was in season.
Now that I am getting to be an old fart. I just hunt deer for the meat, and the coyotes, well because I don't like them.
There is a pretty good population of yotes this year where I hunt in SW Genesee County. (Darien area)

LOL, no just saying now it is easier to shoot a Deer for meat, than it is to shoot a Fox, etc... for his hide.

you eat fox ..?? if i get a yote i may keep a hind quarter to cook up to try . i had raccoon it was like roast beef .. still thinking on woodcuck .. but not sure damn dirt eaters .. lol

Went out last night,,,,,,kicked up a couple of deer on the way out to our spot,,,,,but thats it. No coyote eyes, no fox eyes (not yet in season)

Just a red light not as focused as the gun light,,,,,scan the field with it to see if anything is coming

Very impressive display of your success Bushmaster!!! Yes, getting soft is like your eyesight issue, a natural part of aging. I spell my success as a hunter a little differently these days and still get immense enjoyment from the experience. Soft(?), well I like like to think, more pliable, or flexible, bend but don't break. I still eat, but don't require as much.
