I personally think you loose credibility if you don't practice what you preach. If everyone in the room is a lawful citizen what are you scared of? Regardless of protocol, It will be used for against him and for the Anti agenda.

The worthless NRA will ban guns at their own conventions, but I doubt it's them this time, nor is it Trump.

While I don't personally agree with it, this is almost certainly standard Secret Service protocol.

If they let civilians carry firearms, it would be easier than cake to have some mentally ill radical whatever pose as a Trump supporter with a gun. There have already been foiled attempts at shooting him. That would make it child's play. Seems like a smart move, but then again, I have no idea how something like that would be configured. I'm sure they would think about those things.

That argument is the same one the left uses.

I don't think you're seeing the focus specifically though. It's not about staying conservative here. The left wouldn't pose any valid arguments if there actions would be executed by one expressing their own ideology with violence. They don't want the guns, and really, really want the president gone. Look at how violent they are right now and what they've done at rallies in at other events. My thought is based off of protecting the president, and rights of the second amendment that the left wants destroyed. They'd love to crash something like this. They will pay off whoever they need to for an event like that, it would be like a fuckin' gold mine for them, and allow another fake story to hit the news to promote more gun control measures. They would construe it to however they'd like. You don't have to attend it if you don't want to carry, (you're NOT forced to be there) but that would set up the whole thing for FAKE disasters, false flags etc by the left which is trending like crazy. It's not about trusting the people with firearms that are law abiding, it's about avoiding triggering some other problem by those that want gun rights disabled. There would never be an issue until you unknowingly invite violent disrupters posing and working for an opposing agenda.

You're right, you don't have to be there. It's not a constitutional nor legal issue.It's the second time people have argued that in this thread, but nobody originally even brought it up..

I disagree with the policy, because "it's for safety" is the exact policy of the left, no matter if it's me, you, or the POTUS. No one life is more valuable than another.

But this is certainly SOP for events like this. Not something Trump decided.

This is actually not Trump's call, this is a Secret Service call typical for all POTUS, good, bad or ugly. Whenever any POTUS would visit a Iraq, Afghanistan, all troops in the immediate area were not allowed weapons or ammo. So piss on the left in another failed fake news opportunity.
