If one reads some of that bill they are looking for a carbon free world ... These people don't care. about us... Global warming is a religion to them ... 100 % carbon neutral world in 30 years ....One needs to keep an eye on Europe ... I'm sure that all of the Boy Scout Campground Cabins across NYS will be affected. They use propane as a backup heat source but primarilly heat all of those cabins with wood which is plentiful and 'free'. Who is the author of this POS?

It’s sad how ill informed “leaders” are. Wood burning stoves create CO2 but dont contribute to global warming like fossil fuels do. Trees sequester and release CO2 on a human life time frame and are therefore considered to be carbon neutral. So, in the larger picture, banning wood burning doesn’t change anything.

Also, I thought it was more environmentally friendly to have tree farms and cut them down and plant new? I remember reading something a while back that it's actually more green because the younger trees do a better job at cleaning up the air.
Not sure if it was Christmas tree farms, tree farms for paper production, or if it was for firewood production.
I also know that it's popular to convert the wood saw dust into compacted logs and pellets using an screw-type extruder system.

Regardless if the bill bans wood heating or not I don’t trust them. Look what NYC is doing to cap the carbon emissions from each home. This will likely do the same for the state. I’ll burn my garbage to piss them off.

Oh My god really...you have a good harvest forest mangement program and cut down to heat your home and they ban in...screw you....I would nt comply for usre...I just switched to wood pellets from wood a few years ago and I dont see wood pellets included in that ban but If I got my own wood of my land screw you I can do what I want....Yeah...wood stoves are the reason for climate change...Yep.....Man its getting crazy here...cant wait to get to S.C. in a few years!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We're surrounded by the woods, many make money selling "camp wood" to touristas.
No new homes built or old homes refurb'ed can have electric baseboard heating. Wherever our electric comes from (not National Greed - think it's the NY Power Authority), we have max'ed out.
So from now on it's propane, fuel oil or wood/pellet stoves.

It's interesting to note, as I'm sure you have, that the dependence of Germany on Nord Stream 2, thus Russia, and thus, ultimately, Putin, make Germany an unreliable NATO ally.
Thus, the maneuvering of Russia/Belarus in the Ukraine/Baltics region becomes quite a complex situation.
Once again, the fUSA puts its nose in a position to be chopped off, again.

so I wonder how they are going to handle all the wood burners in the north country?? My Off Grid cabin is heated ONLY by wood. I have no other option, many people up there have the same issue.
The only way to my cabin is by boat or snowmobile/ATV. so how they are going to come after me should interesting. In the spring and fall it can get down the the teens, and if they think Im hauling propane tanks across the lake the can kiss my ass

I bought a wood stove this fall. I love the thing. If the power grid ever went down in the winter, Im going to have a lot of new friends.
I have a generator too, but 5 gallons burns for eight or ten hours , say 8 , Thats 15 gallons a day x 3.50 = $52 a day x 7 days = 364 a week, x4 is 1450 for the month. I doubt We ever be without power that long but in the event it did thats a lot of money, Then theres the storage problem . and of course in an event like that supplies would be low and prices could be doubled . For me a generator is a short term solution, wood stove I can burn forever and I can cook on it

No one is going to stop selling firewood above the 38th parallel of Rockland/Westchester. Ever.
Its a cheap and easy means of full-time, part-time, and fun money for anyone with a chainsaw and a splitter, and a crap ton of it is sold sans sales tax, insurance mandates, business licenses, or other crooked government arranged marketplace thefts.
The jackwagons down in Albany cannot comprehend the vast under the table economy that has been building the last 10-15 years with the onslaught of NY bullshit, including the off-books firewood trade. Under the table work has been big my entire lifetime, but it has skyrocketed the last couple of decades and I don't see that abating any time soon.
I know business owners who are lamenting the fact that they they ever went on the books given the number of people working under the table offering the same goods and services on the sly. Practically every industry is shadowed by an off-the-books underground economy that Albany has never been able to dent let alone stop.
