When the rear sight blade on my Ruger Redhawk broke, Ruger promptly sent me a new one for free.
When I finally got around to trying to install it, I lost the rear sight windage spring. So, I asked Ruger if I could purchase one of those rear sight windage spring, they said they would send me one. Instead though, they actually sent me a rear sight windage screw.
When I tried to get that corrected and asked then again to send me a rear sight windage screw, they apologized for the mix-up and said they would send the rear sight windage spring. Instead though, they actually sent me a Pawl Plunger Spring.
When I informed them of the second mix-up (I supplied their own invoice to them both time to show they twice sent the wrong part), the representative told me this:
When I went to Numrich Gun Parts Corp.'s website, to look at a Ruger Redhawk schematic, it showed what appeared to be two different sized springs for the Rear Sight Windage spring and the Pawl Plunger Spring (I am guess that the schematic is fairly to scale). So I ordered two (in case I lose one) Rear Sight Windage Springs from Numrich.
I am also going to call Ruger by phone to see if I can get an OEM Rear Sight Windage Spring from them. I tend to doubt that Ruger suddenly has substituted a spring of a different size to replace another spring and that it is more likely the Ruger representative could not find what I needed or they simply were out of stock or he was less than a stellar employee and did not look for it hard enough. I could be wrong but that is my guess right now. Last time I called Ruger, they put me through to someone they claimed was a Ruger gunsmith; if they do that again, I am sure a gunsmith would be able to tell me if the springs are indeed interchangeable.
Oh well, if I get the springs from Numrich, I should be good to go but it certainly has become
disappointing as to how Ruger has handled it to date.
All the best,
GB

That is exactly just as he wrote it in the email to me. I have not received the elevation spring but really don't need it (at least not right now).KW05000 is the part they are using now , this part number replaced KW05915 which is no longer in use. Even thou it states pawl plunger spring it is also the rear sight elevation spring. I did find this part number which is also an elevation spring which I will send KW05914
