Well today I am going to put my climate denying white privileged ass on display and drive to Carmichael Hill Cemetery to plant flowers on Mom's grave. Maybe 120+ mile round trip and 8 -10 gals in the old Dodge p/u. Very much worth the effort and price. Luv U Mom!

What it’s going to be is I haven’t taken my medications I need because I had to buy food and couldn’t afford the meds. Or I’m not eating enough because I had to pay the electric bill. Or we are losing our house because we could either afford the mortgage or all the other bills.
I'd say the same thing to you as I would someone working at McDonald's. Get a different job. If it won't pay your bills then it's not a job worth having. Your boss can pay you more or you quit, that simple. There are tons of jobs out there that pay well. They aren't entitled to your labor. They can pay the fair and going price or they can fuck off.

And normally you'd be right, but not when it's *all* businesses smaller than a fortune 500.

I prefer a job that leaves me (personally) alone, pays the bills, and has some kind of respectable end result.

So? If they can't replace him then maybe they should have paid more to retain him. That's thier problem, not his.
Also, if an economic system at large doesn't provide a compensation structure that allows people to provide the necessities to their families then maybe that economic system isn't worth having?

I went to BJ's in Amherst today to top off the truck. Waited in line for quite some time.
I am a people person at times; I can talk to anyone about just about anything and anytime.
I saw a guy, bout my age in a truck, he was filling cans in the bed of the truck. I approached and make a comment like, :lots of gas huh?"
We got talking and he is convinced that this shortage of gas is right around the corner. He did not tell me where he works or what he does, but he did tell me that his boss/owner of the company just bought a bunch of tanks to store hundreds and hundreds of gallons of gas and diesel.
He told me that he himself has over 1000 gallons stored at his country land. We got talking about more of this and that, great little conversation today.
I hope this grows, I hope this continues and I hope more and more Americans begin to wake the F up.
Life is going to become very difficult, learn to embrace it.

He lost enough gas on that first corner to buy enough empty 55 gallon drums to exceed his truck's hauling capacity.
