I'll apply for the UT permit next month!! I already paid for the course. And maybe Florida permit the same day.It took Adams County 3 days to approve mine. I had to make an appointment to pick it up which was 3 weeks in the future (in the middle of the worst of COVID). I have went to one of the local gun /rod/ hunting clubs near where my relatives have property. Even though they knew that I was a native NY'er, they were open, welcoming, and gave me lots of tips on stance, etc. I even completed my NRA qualification while there as well. That is good for the live-fire requirement in other states for which you may be interested in, such as FL. Don't forget to get your UT permit as well since you can get this even before you have your NYS permit. I received my UT permit (N/G in NY) before receiving my NY permit. Go figure since the laws are different over there. You just need to find a UT qualified instructor in NYS. There are quite a few of them out there.
