are you saying i dont look good?
Are you asking for a second opinion?
are you saying i dont look good?
Yep, had one a Tops said she needed my license # and I said no you don't. She called the manager who repeated what the clerk said, about three or four times, to which I said, "No, you don't!".Our stores ask even my Mom that is 94. No id no beer no matter what. They also key in your driver lic #
I didn’t say Anything of the sort. Nice try though. What I am saying is that Monkey face doesn’t give a Rats ass what people think of him, or who or who doesn’t like him. If he thinks that he can generate revenue from something he’ll do what ever it takes to make it happen, including becoming a fucking dealer or Pimp if it will stuff the coffers.
Believe what you wanna believe. It’s still a free country...for now
That’s kind of a dick move. Some companies have an ID all policy, and workers can lose their jobs if they don’t comply. Had I been that manager, you’d have left with no beer.Yep, had one a Tops said she needed my license # and I said no you don't. Finally I said do you want to sell this beer or not. I left with the beer.

What do they need the DL# for? To make sure the ID is real? That would then mean every store with a Point Of Sale cash register would be linked to DMV. I've had a lot of instances where the clerk simply scans the bar code on the back of the ID and while it gives me an uneasy feeling when they do, I have to assume it's simply to verify that the info on the front of the card is concurrent meaning the ID is legit and not to compile information. That’s kind of a dick move. Not special at all, although apparently you feel you are. Just been in business for over 30 years. If the people that sign my paycheck say that’s how they want it,that’s how it’s going to be. Neither I nor any of my people are losing their jobs for you. Terribly sorry, go buy your stuff somewhere else if you don’t like it. Perhaps if the State weren’t out there constantly trying to catch us in a selling error on alcohol/tobacco so they can fine us, things would be different.Well, aren't you special. She saw my D/L and birth date. If you had been the manager I would have left, without the beer.

Where do you stand on that when it comes to something that violates peoples rights? If the people that sign my paycheck say that’s how they want it,that’s how it’s going to be.

I plead the 420th...I mean 5thI thought this thread was about @NYGuns smoking pot and caught with more laws coming because of him.
Agreed. I abhor the policy, but you have every right to not shop there. Fastrac scans it. No scan, no sale. Even if you are 100.That’s kind of a dick move. Not every POS system. Just the ones with that policy. What do they need the DL# for? To make sure the ID is real? The scan is linked with the DMV info. It won't accept an expired one either,
Bullshit, yes, but store policy, also yes. Either play by their rules or get out. You aren't entitled to their stuff without playing by their rules.
Gas station in town has software requiring a valid id scan for any age restricted products.
There is absolutely zero reason for them to require my DL#, legal or any other, zero. I do shop some where else. So when you buy your depends and they ask for you SSN, I'm sure you pony up immediately. Like Darth, you must obey, you must obey. Not special at all, although apparently you feel you are. But is the POS system just pinging DMV to make sure the ID is valid, or are they compiling information on what you are purchasing as well? Not every POS system. Just the ones with that policy.

Just pinging. Just like when you give them the number. But is the POS system just pinging DMV to make sure the ID is valid, or are they compiling information on what you are purchasing as well?
It is different. The examples you cite are illegal. Id for age restricted sales is not illegal, quite the opposite. So what if upper management instructed you to overcharge every ring-up by $1...?
Or to adjust the weight scales say -10%?
Would you?
For your job preservation?
Don't tell me it's different, because it's not...
It's a slippery slope! And showing ID, and recording the ID, are two "crazy" different things.
I don't like being asked when my gray hair makes things obvious, and I have left beer at the register of businesses which seek to embellish what the law requires by establishing a ridiculous "policy"... She goes for ammo, or any other corporate policy that expects the customer to jump through hoops to satisfy ridiculousness!
Calling it your "job", don't make it right Haas...
I’ll have to get back to you when/if I am ever asked to do something that violates people rights.Where do you stand on that when it comes to something that violates peoples rights?
Not at all. You can choose to shop elsewhere. You don’t get to set the policies my employer requires me to enforce. Don’t like it? There’s the door. I won’t miss you. Especially since the margin on beer/tobacco is practically non-existent.There is absolutely zero reason for them to require my DL#, legal or any other, zero. I do shop some where else. So when you buy your depends and they ask for you SSN, I'm sure you pony up immediately. Like Darth, you must obey, you must obey.

Oh, so it's just the younger generation that's entitled. . until it's something that affects you. Got itThere is absolutely zero reason for them to require my DL#, legal or any other, zero.
