They have convinced everyone that disagrees with them that voting is a waste of time. Think about that as you are spending your time in line to turn in your guns.

This is probably the one law that will have the most impact. You will not be able to purchase a stripped lower again once this law passes. If you own an other, it will be illegal. You either need to modify or not comply. The risk is up to each individual and will depend on each context. Overall- the liberal Dems in NYC had a good time ass raping all the legal gun owners in the state.

A stripped lower is not, in and of itself, a "weapon" as is required in this bill. Several parts must be added to make it a weapon and these parts could (and in most cases, do) put it firmly in the existing category of "rifle" or they could put the assembly outside the existing category of "rifle." This would catch those "weapons."
That's my layman's take on it.
However, if you're right, forget about purchasing; just possessing a stripped lower will be a felony.
Oh, and just think - if the Federal classification of "other" superseded all other definitions, regardless of what the final weapon configuration was, we could have legally had full featured AR's all this time as long as you built it from a stripped lower.

Also they made Tasers legal, but you can only buy them in person -- no online sales.
I believe that happened when they discussed the whole gravity knife/assisted opening knife ordeal.

After reading this bill they are not banning “others” they are just redefining them and are now considered firearms. I’ve read it numerous times and don’t see anywhere where they are banning them.
I don’t know how they will be transferred by an FFL in NYS as they are still considered others on the FED level ?

Doubt I'm any smarter but buy classifying them as firearms they would be judged under the same restrictions of SAFE and therefore illegal to own.

NY has a goofy definition of "firearm." Many rifles (bolts, levers, single shot, etc.) are not firearms according to NY law. Pistols are firearms, as are "assault weapons." The default status for "firearms" under NY law is that they are illegal to possess. There are a number of specific exceptions that are an affirmative defense against illegal possession of a "firearm", including having a permit "to have and carry concealed."
This definitely catches things like the Shockwave. But as I said before, the wording requires it to be a weapon. A stripped lower isn't a weapon until you assemble it with other parts - parts that usually define it as a rifle.

By using a catch all definition they confine an other as a firearm thus becoming illegal to possess. Thus a ban. Thus thousands of gun owners are felons overnight.
"shall also include any other weapon that is not otherwise defined containing any component that provides housing or a structure designed to hold or integrate any fire control component that is designed to or may readily be converted to expel a projectile by action of explosive"
Since a stripped lower contains a housing to hold a fire control group, I'm guessing you won't be able to get them anymore.
Who knows, but I went shopping today just in case.

I read the same thing. "Weapon" is still a part of that sentence you quoted. It doesn't say 'weapon or...'
I maintain that a receiver isn't a weapon until you add a barrel/chamber at the absolute minimum.
Probably wouldn't fly in a NY court but not much logic does anymore.
Let's not just accept what they say in press conferences. At the very minimum, we should refuse to concede to their lunatic policies when they can't even articulate them accurately in statute.
