NYC Approved Long Gun List

Hello everyone! FNG here looking for an approved list of long guns that have been successfully registered in NYC. I just applied for my permit and currently shopping around. I can't find anything relating to NYC and to my understanding just because it is legal in NYS doesn't mean it is legal in NYC.

I really like the new DLD CT4-2A that everyone is buzzing about but even with a 5rd mag I don't know how I would feel about walking into the registration room with it. I contacted the manufacture about it and they "claim" it is NYC legal with a 5rd mag.

I'm not new to firearms and call it cliché but I like the tacticool setups, i'm not into wood stocks and such. I have shotguns in my other home out of state so i'm mainly looking for nice bolt action and semi-auto rifles. Guidance on what works and what doesn't would be much appreciated.

Get a nice single shot .22LR. If you want a tacticool look just spray paint it black and use electrical tape to tape a flashlight to the barrel.

There is no issues with the SCR? I ask because it is pretty similar to the DSI 15 and on their website it says no DSI 15's in NYC.

Ruger PCC 19101 can be registered but you need to find a 5 round Glock magazine.

We are not lawyers here, and the lawyers here will not commit themselves to the liability of answering such a question on line.
I would think that if the company says you are good to go in NYC and your local FFL says 'no prob bro', then you are, 'good to go'.
Other than that, if you have another house out of state then it is obvious to me that you can indeed afford a lawyer to answer your questions about the stupid fucking laws in the fucking shit hole this state has become, and the communist district of a city you have chosen to live.

This is uncharted waters in NYC law. It's not a rifle or shotgun because it has no stock so you won't be able to put it on a Rifle/Shotgun permit. It's not pistol because it's over 26 inch OAL. Either you can legally possess it in NYC with no permit/license or it's a felony due to some other part of NYC penal law, I'd speak to a lawyer.

I wonder if a Jury would believe that an AR Pistol is technically a "pistol"... I doubt the average guy off the street would.

I'd stay clear of this. It's the same gun. The only difference is that it comes from the factory with a vertical forward grip. This guy below replaced it with an angled one.

Hmmm, i'll let someone else be the test dummy for the CT4 but I will mention it and show all the documentation about it plus communication logs with the manufacture when I go to register my first long gun and see what they say about it. It would either be a yes, buy one and bring it in and we'll register it or forget about it.

I like the Ruger 19101 and the Mini 14, the SCR would probably make me depressed because I know what I am missing.

For bolt actions is there anything besides 5rd limit. I'm toying the idea of doing a Remington 700 build.

Make sure you call the license division to set up a time to bring in your paperwork and pay them. You have to initiate this step, they won't call you. Once you do that, keep checking the online portal. Once your application is marked "approved" on the online portal, call again and go in to get your permit. Doing this I got my permit in 2 months.. some people have been waiting since February with no phone call.

NYC has different RULES- Mayor Dinkin's assault weapon ban put an end to that in 1991. Just because the rifle is NYS compliant. It probably isn't NYC complaint, because Dinkin banned ALL of them.

I thought the M4 version with the pistol grip was ok since pistol grip isn't listed for semiauto shotguns and it doesn't have a detachable magazine. It's just movable stocks, 2nd vertical grip, and barrel attachments. I know the pistol grip M4 is NYS legal.

How long is temporary? If it's very short term then I wouldn't even bother. Get a shotgun or something like that. Oh wait it's NYC. Then get some mace. Oh that's a no go as well. I guess you could get a slingshot. Ah..

I don't think you understand NYC. NYC is not a gun friendly city. It's the land of anti-gun liberals. Their idea of protection is dialing 911.
NYC has their "OWN set of rules". NYC doesn't care that you want a gun for protection.
You might want to do some more research, because under NYC gun rules you're not going to be able to have a CT4, Benelli M4, Mini 14, etc..

You can own a Mini-14 and probably a Benelli M4 with no pistol grip in NYC. You can also get your rifle/shotgun permit in a few months for a temporary stay as long as you stay on top of the license division.
