According to the NYS NICS person today, who is NOT law enforcement of any kind, when asked if NY has indeed started an illegal gun registry, his answer was "It exists but it is legal in NY." So .... anyone else ready to sue the shit outta this anti-American state and ALL democrap poilticians yet?? Where are all of these supposed gun groups protecting the citizens?? Huh?? Where are they? Nowhere that's where. This is 100% BULLSHIT!! This came from the ATF/NYNICS meeting today. NY's NICS are done in NJ BTW and not in NY. NY can't afford to enforce this unconstitutional horseshit so they have other states doing the work for them. NYS is NOT charged for doing a NICS BGC either ... but YOU ARE!! The charge for the BGC is just another ILLEGAL tax!!! When the guy from NYNICS was asked what they were going to do with the registry he has no clue what to answer other than "We may dump the info after a year or so." Right ......

That database contains all your personally identifiable information, NYS Client number, Social Security Number (Federal violation?), the make, model, caliber, serial number of the gun, and in the case of ammunition the dumbasses wanted serial numbers, but since those don't exists, they decided the Lot number (if there is one) would suffice, along with quantity.

When I was a manager of a gun store, we were told by NYSP kalifornia was doing the BGC's and when we called to ask for guidance before it went into effect, we had to contact a company in kalifornia. Texas? A Texas company makes sense since Texas is a blue state itself. Even though I may be a year late, I'm still PO'ed and was never informed of any of that even when in the industry. We were lied to by the NYSP then. (although those 33 morons in a room doing the BGC's have nothing to do with the NYSP ... another lie to the people) Thank you for the info. Know what: I bought three Busses to send people to that Rally in Albany, the one that had by all estimated over ten thousand attendees did precisely Jack Shit! What you have to understand, (and one of the best ways to really find out is to sit down and talk to a State Senator or Assemblyperson with "R" after their name) is the Democrat Control over all three levers of power in Albany. Most are from downstate and NYC where they have numbers great enough to overwhelm the rest of the State in representation, and frankly they don't give a fuck about a bunch of hicks-from-the-sticks tearing up the Lawn, besides the fact that they weren't even in their Offices! Scuttlebutt from a NYSP Sargent who is a close friend indicated a year ago they were supposed to hire 60 people to work the BGC Center; to what capacity and extent, we can only guess, which might be why Tyler Tech was brought in to run checks, and AFAIK any requiring "further review" are flipped to the SP for determination (if any, but that's another endless loop)
As far as the Sullivan Act which is absolutely required to have a Handgun (civilians) it too requires 100% identification of firearm and registration; the only successful blows to the Act came from the SCOTUS Lawsuit brought by NYSRPA (the people so many here hate) and the outcome of it for New Yorker's was good, until the Three cunts in a room cooked up and passed without public input or disclosure, the CCIA. The SCOTUS ruling IS being successfully applied in many other States and Cases.
I belong to NYSRPA, SCOPE, GOA, The NRA, and a few Clubs: there are always actions going on, cases being built, assistance with Legal actions against members/owners, ALL have Cases pending, so just because you don't hear about it in the Local News or see it on facebook DOES NOT MEAN there's nothing going on. I strongly suggest inquiring individually with any or all of these Associations to see what you can get behind and do so, even if it's only sending $25. to help out.
Biggest thing WE can do right now at this moment is vote in all our current elections for Republicans/Conservatives: a Power shift of just one, puts the brakes on all three.

Not slighting or being dismissive here: For any sort of Lawsuit against the Law to go forward, there has to be someone "harmed" in order to have Standing (Where have we experienced that before?) you literally have to have a Body, you have to have someone willing and able to run the gauntlet, Financial backing (lots of it) and of Course Attorneys, as well as Associations/Organizations for logistical support and most importantly; TIME. We can petition our Elected Representatives (after all, that's why we elect them) to bring forth, repeal, or modify existing Laws, and while it really only takes one person to bring that forward, it's up to the Speaker of the House as to whether it will be heard and before that happens, it has to have a lot of Sponsors and support...behind the scenes, you have Staffers, Lawyers, Interns, etc. actually writing the action to be considered, ostensibly researching it for Constitutional legality, actually studying it for flaws and consequences intended and not, then there's the actuality of it going anywhere: Do you remember the "Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act" or perhaps the "Hearing Protection Act"? Great ideas, and Republicans even held majority: Result = 0
I hope and pray this incoming administration actually does something restorative to the Gun owners and overreaching States, especially considering the effort behind getting these Folks into Office.
