How much control will individual counties be able to exert over these over zealous laws? I’m from Cattaraugus County which I consider a 2nd Amendment friendly county.

Welcome. The individual counties will be as powerless as you are. These are state laws that the counties need to follow, but the counties can make stricter laws than the state laws. You may here of some counties or cities claiming to pass 2a sanctuary laws, but those are as meaningless as you saying the laws of NYS don’t apply in my house or on my property.

As much as it pains me, I plan on adhering 100% to the law until the courts intercede and hopefully reverse some of this insanity.

I too plan to do my best to adhere to it. I see a few work arounds though. I’m fairly certain I will never do an ammunition background check and I will just purchase my ammo in PA since that is not illegal.
I just bought two concealed carry pistols and will do the background check in a few days. I actually regret it now, but I feel most of this will get tossed in court and an injunction is coming quickly. I have a feeling 90% of this will never get the chance to even hinder us.
Some sensitive places will stay
Some additional training will stay
Maybe the list of those living with you will stay
Maybe the storage law will stay for youth and prohibited people.

The only ones that have similar or identical training is cops so they are the only ones that should be exempt. Military get no de-escalation training and no article 35.

They'll make them use a subcompact 45 or 357. That way it'll be harder to control. There will be intentional screwing along the way to prevent as many permits as possible

Oh and we cant carry at a restaurant either anymore? Every place other than maybe a diner or something has a liquor license. 95% of all restaurants I bet. The standard for "sensitive" should be controlled access with metal detectors and guards.

So, secure area of an airport, or a courthouse, yep, sensitive.

Football game or concert ? Depends on whether they have detectors and guards or not.

Because it's pretty obvious that without guards and searches any prohibition on carrying isn't worth the sign it's printed on to anyone with criminal intent.

Police are also indemnified by the state and are on the payroll as sworn officers of the law with the authority to arrest and to use deadly force. So the bar should be higher. We are just ordinary citizens exercising our constitutional rights

In theory the first court to hear it should strike it down in accordance with the new SCOTUS directives.

NYS can appeal that decision as far as they want, but it should be a non starter in front of any even remotely honest judge.

I have no confidence that the courts will follow the law though. There are no meaningful consequences for a judge who ignores it due to personal prejudices.
