Greetings group! My name is Carl Gottstein and I work at New York State Riffle & Pistol Association. I wanted to join this forum to better serve NY's 2A community by better understanding the thoughts and issues that most concern fellow NY gun owners. Additionally, I can not answer questions about current court cases pending but I am looking forward to hearing from NYC gun owners and discussing how the case (NYSRPA vs NYC) has affected your life as well as any conversations you care to have

Last but not least I work with Tom King every day, I have been working by his side for the last several years and I often read unkind things & untruthful things posted here on this forum about Tom and about NYSRPA, I will defend Tom's work and his character and the dedicated efforts made by the staff here at NYSRPA without hesitation.

I welcome your friendship and conversation.

The general opinions of the NRA, NYSRPA, and Tom King are not favorable on this forum. Until NYSRPA actually demonstrates that they give at a minimum of a half of a shit about ALL gun owners in this state, instead of just repeating hollow talking points, that opinion is not likely going to change.

In the interim, both you and Tom would be best served by fucking right off.

Why don't you start by telling us all, exactly what has been done to benefit New York Firearm Owners by the above?

I wish I could believe that but too often the gun rights organizations are the first ones to help craft the gun laws in order to “help us“ instead of letting the dumb assed politicians craft the unconstitutionally veague laws that wouldn't pass the first test in any court. Also you find “gun owners and experts” all over the news saying nobody needs “x” gun. So no I don’t believe we are all on the same side.

Glad you signed up so we can talk to you directly. Personally I havent donated to the NRA or NYSRPA since shortly after the UNsafe Act. Specifically with NYSRPA since TKs comments about the anti safe act rallies becoming "threatening", and talking down about the attendees. Everyone feels he turned his back on us.

What do we care about? SHAL NOT BE INFRINGED! Not one more concession on our part. The left and corrupt right do nothing but chip away at the 2a.

Im not going to spend time digging up things from years past that he has said as it would take too much time, but the general idea is that he seemed to have no problem letting politicians pick apart the 2a as long as it didnt effect the FUDD crowd.

Tom King is a pathetic excuse for a 2A supporter. After he bitches about people that are members of 2A organizations that don’t start with NRA, everyone stopped caring about anything he said. Apparently he got tired of losing money because the NRA and NYSRPA doesn’t do shit for this state.

As a member of NYSRPA and an NRA Life member, I'd love to hear when and how Mr. King, as an NRA board member, will address Wayne Lapierre's malfeasance.

Here's an idea I pitched to NRA when it might have mattered that NYSRPA could run with....

In every issue of your publication, devote a full page to "What NYSRPA has done lately'. Keep the list current with dates attached to the entries to let people know what their dues are getting done. If the list is always fresh, with a lot of new and meaningful entries, your members will know. And if the list doesn't change for several issues, your members will know that as well.

It really doesn't matter what you've been doing if nobody knows about it. It doesn't look like a whole lot of effort for a full time salary - or salaries.

OP, Sorry, but Tom King has no fans living here, and he's not likely to convert anyone. Perhaps he should actually take a Pro 2 A stance instead of just saying he's Pro 2 A and then turning around and supporting an "Assault Weapons Ban" because, well, you know, NOBODY HUNTS WITH AN ASSAULT RIFLE !

Was in my local gun store one day a few years ago and Tom walks in and goes straight behind the counter and to the back of the store like he owned the place. The manager and other workers swooned over him like he was the Pope. His arrogance was stifling.
