Oh for fuck's sake...
The drama, the lies, and the doom porn coming out of the Democrats is ridiculous.
Oh for fuck's sake...
Until we stop fucking around and do something about it. We know it's unConstitutional, we were given instructions on what to do when that happens.
Mayor Eric Adams emphasized at a news conference with NYPD Commissioner Keechant Sewell that “nothing changes today” as a result of the ruling, noting that the decision was remanded to the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals to reconsider its earlier decision upholding the state law. There will be no traction or definitive case law set until a few dozen people are put through the ringer in an attempt to get their unrestricted permits.
It will be the burden of we the people to prove that there is/was malicious intent by the state/city to create an exhausting, time consuming and strenuous process to get said permit/license.
SCOTUS should have been more defined in how the process should be and made it a national standard, although this could definitely be a double edged sword. Again, something I feel would hurt the 2A community. To wield a blunt or more surgical weapon? There is no middle ground other than following the 2A to the letter of the law with no NFA or things like the SAFE act.
Perhaps more importantly...holy shit...this is Barbara Underwood? The woman who is representing NYS in the case?

God Damn. What the hell is going on in the NYAG's office to create so much ugly?
Hmmm... I cannot see that happening, that would release the hounds.
Just like Florida became the gunshine state when they were the first state to issue CCP's.
You can’t get arrested for carrying outside your restrictions.1) Employment History
2) Lifetime driving history
3) Letters of recommendation
4) Notarized consent from housemates
5) $400
SCOTUS pretty much said they can keep all that and expand on it so long as it’s applied equally to all applicants lol
Who’s gonna be the first to sue for their upgrade to full carry or who here has the actual balls to carry on their restricted license and risk arrest?
Who’s gonna be the first to sue over the dumb shit they ask and cost of the license?
Until then, nothing has changed.
I would assume the more immediate ramification is the likelihood of losing your permit altogether. You can’t get arrested for carrying outside your restrictions.
Theyll make something upI would assume the more immediate ramification is the likelihood of losing your permit altogether.
And killing babies. All of this BS coming from FUKH about public safety blah blah blah.
But yet at the same time, she supports the bail reform law.
Soooo... can I go tomorrow to the county clerk and ask to change my permit to a full carry?? That's the only thing I'm asking for. And later maybe be able to carry in NYC. But one thing at a time
And putting out the red carpet for the illegal invaders. And killing babies.
SCOTUS struct down NY's "special need" 2nd step for obtaining a license, therefore, there "should" be no additional steps, applications, letters to Judges, etc., that a license holder today, with restrictions on their license, should have to take. It "should" be a matter of just crossing them (restrictions) out (magic marker?) since all NY pistol licenses have always been a license to carry firearms, period. At least that's they way it should be.There will be no traction or definitive case law set until a few dozen people are put through the ringer in an attempt to get their unrestricted permits.

yes and no. I believe Florida was something like 1987 for CCP. That was before my time as a NY permit holder, but my father has had a unrestricted NY permit since the 70's. It all depended on where you lived and the attitude of the issuing judge. At certain times, although uncommon and overly difficult to obtain, NY actually had better CCW rights than most of the country.Just like Florida became the gunshine state when they were the first state to issue CCP's.
And this is when US Marshall's should step in and make arrests!
This nation has endured the Socialist Democrats and their RINOs cousins for longer than our founders would have ever thought possible before the populace would have reversed the tyranny. This SCOTUS decision cracked the Democrats.
Just wait until the SCOTUS drops the Roe vs Wade decision on them. (tomorrow maybe?)
It just might break them. Liberal tears will be flowing like an angry river.
Beware.
I believe so, but what do I know. I live in a red county. 1/3 of the population has their permit and a large percentage of them have no restrictions. I honestly do not know any of my friends or family that are restricted, Its like junior free America.Egret-II said "

I say you already have a "license to carry." There is no "change to a full carry" at the pistol office. All they will do is write something in like "restrictions removed" or something. Since there are (supposedly according to SCOTUS} no more restrictions, all of our licenses are actually full carry licenses. Right?
You could have gone to your issuing authority yesterday or for that matter, a month ago to ask them to remove administrative restrictions. Did you ever bother to try ?Soooo... can I go tomorrow to the county clerk and ask to change my permit to a full carry?? That's the only thing I'm asking for. And later maybe be able to carry in NYC. Yeah one time licensing fee of 5K and 1K every 5 year'sThis could send things down the path we don't want. . I can see anyone that has a restricted permit will become void and one must apply for a full carry permit. , We can see a limit on mag size ...Perhaps in the city areas... I an sure they are scheming tonight...
What I agree with is irrelevant. As much as I agree with that and what not, anti-2a cops, judges, and pistol licensing officers don't see it that way.
If one had a restricted PP, it would be asinine to test that theory out. I certainly don't condone it, but I certainly don't recommend it. Kind of like do it at your own risk.
I know of a few friends that have restricted permits that when they got their restricted permit said "What good is it if I can defend myself?". I do have a friend that is planning on to selling their pistol and voluntarily give up with restricted license because its not worth it. Up to them, but that is from all this bull crap that has been going on. I told them they are stupid for even thinking that. Be glad you got that far......
It shouldn't be that way. Shitty, but it's the truth.
This. I don't get this. The top court in the land said NY can't do what it's been doing. Who gives 2 fucks if the lower court says the sky is green now?Mayor Eric Adams emphasized at a news conference with NYPD Commissioner Keechant Sewell that “nothing changes today” as a result of the ruling, noting that the decision was remanded to the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals to reconsider its earlier decision upholding the state law.
