I like all this speculation, but who is going to call their PP office and ask them if they will be taking restrictions off people's licenses if they ask due to the SCOTUS decision?
Yeah, NYPD Commish too...This. I don't get this. The top court in the land said NY can't do what it's been doing. Who gives 2 fucks if the lower court says the sky is green now?
?California's Governor Gavin Newsome said, "This is a dark day in America."
Here's the thing, IIRC this ruling affects only 7 out of the 50 states.
That's not a dark day in America. That's 7 city states finally getting their dicks slapped.
I am deeply disappointed by the Supreme Court’s ruling in New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen. Since 1911, the State of New York has required individuals who would like to carry a concealed weapon in public to show a need to do so for the purpose of self-defense and to acquire a license. More than a century later, the United States Supreme Court has chosen to strike down New York’s long-established authority to protect its citizens. This ruling contradicts both common sense and the Constitution, and should deeply trouble us all.
In the wake of the horrific attacks in Buffalo and Uvalde, as well as the daily acts of gun violence that do not make national headlines, we must do more as a society — not less — to protect our fellow Americans. I remain committed to doing everything in my power to reduce gun violence and make our communities safer. I have already taken more executive actions to reduce gun violence than any other President during their first year in office, and I will continue to do all that I can to protect Americans from gun violence.
I urge states to continue to enact and enforce commonsense laws to make their citizens and communities safer from gun violence. As the late Justice Scalia recognized, the Second Amendment is not absolute. For centuries, states have regulated who may purchase or possess weapons, the types of weapons they may use, and the places they may carry those weapons. And the courts have upheld these regulations.

This ruling doesn't so much affect the states that didn't have the show good cause in place. Unlike CA, NY, and the other states that does/did. That's what I was getting at...?
Is the SCOTUS not the top court in the land for all 50?
Broome Co will.... after dropping $200 on a class and whatever ammo will coat now. I still don't have $200 disposable. I still carry on restricted. You could have gone to your issuing authority yesterday or for that matter, a month ago to ask them to remove administrative restrictions. Did you ever bother to try ?
Go to NYC with a full size handgun and a tight shirt. Let’s see how long you last broYou can’t get arrested for carrying outside your restrictions.
Why would he do that? Nobody is saying to purposely focus all the attention on oneself.Go to NYC with a full size handgun and a tight shirt. Let’s see how long you last bro
Soooo... can I go tomorrow to the county clerk and ask to change my permit to a full carry?? That's the only thing I'm asking for. And later maybe be able to carry in NYC. But one thing at a time
Oneida County's assistant pistol licensing officer says it removes the distinction between unrestricted and sporting licenses.
“If they sign off to give somebody a license, all licenses are unrestricted, full carry, carry-concealed licenses," says Oneida County’s Assistant Pistol Licensing Officer, Dan Sullivan.
In Oneida County, they're putting the application process on hold for at least a week or two, possibly until the end of July, pending guidance and clarification from the state. And they're asking you not to flood the pistol permit office with phone calls. They'll say they’ll share any information with you as soon as they get it.
Hell, you didn't even last long enough to correctly read his post, bro.Go to NYC with a full size handgun and a tight shirt. Let’s see how long you last bro
Pending clarification from the state? It seems the SC clarified things for them.Explainer: Oneida County Pistol Licensing Office breaks down SCOTUS ruling

I’m just making my point that nothing will change. Those who have licenses outside of the city will probably get upgraded instantly because they already put you through the ringer so they might as well not fight you on the upgrade. Why would he do that? Nobody is saying to purposely focus all the attention on oneself.
As Instapundit said NYC already is the wild west.
I'll make sure the criminals know they don't want any more guns. What they really don’t want is guns in NYC

Like I just commented, pretty sure the SC clarified things a bit. Don't need permission from the state. In Oneida County, they're putting the application process on hold for at least a week or two, possibly until the end of July, pending guidance and clarification from the state.
All I can say is the true believers must sue if you meet any pushback whatsoever. It’s gonna be a long road and even longer unless the lawsuits start rolling in quickfast! In Oneida County, they're putting the application process on hold for at least a week or two, possibly until the end of July, pending guidance and clarification from the state. That right there is unconstitutional. This should have NO bearing on granting (even restricted) licenses. They should be processing them regardless. Reminds me of ummmm..... COVID.
Shame on them!
Oh, okay. Like they really truly do that for us peons. lol"I swear to uphold the constitution." Pretty sure they did that when they were sworn in.
Their reaction is just shining the spotlight on them even more now.Oh, okay. Like they really truly do that for us peons. lol

What's the worst the could happen? They say no? It's not like they're gonna take my permit away just for asking.Relax…dont poke the bear
I guess that's the nice thing about the constitution. What the DOJ "thinks" is a mute point. Thanks for playing though. This is kind of interesting...
I have never seen the DOJ give a statement like this in the past.

That is because they are not really the "department of justice". They are the law enforcement branch of an illegitimate government. This is kind of interesting...
