If you have an unrestricted NYS PP, it was always concealed carry.............you could carry in your car, on your person, it is the intent of the law, BE ARMED................no such restriction ever existed for unrestricted licenses......... and that is what we have now.........unrestricted licenses............no locked box in trunk, no separate ammo anymore.

If you are under arrest for DWI, you will be frisked before being cuffed.................I am not aware of a normal, non gang citizen being stopped and frisked "for safety", by MALL Cops, or in the supermarket, or parts store, or driving around normally.

Be discreet, as always. No one should know you are carrying.

You missed the rest. Nobody is saying everyone is getting patted down. Im saying if someone suspects you and calls on you the police WILL pat you down and you will get the charge. Maybe you were wearing a camo hat. Maybe a "Winchester" shirt. Maybe it was something they overheard you say. The public and shop owners will be ultra sensitive now. This is high profile. IF someone has a suspicion and they make that call, you will be patted down and the jig will be up.

Maybe you walk in unarmed with the winchester shirt, then sue the shit out of them when they call.

Can't take too many of those before they learn the lesson.

Doesn't work that way. The complaint is you were suspicious. The pat down is completely constitutional. Its been upheld over and over. Any encounter. Pat pat pat. No weapon, no problem. Again, its not a search.

You're not suing the cops, you're suing the business that called them.

And it doesn't matter if you win. How many of those cases do you think they want to win ?

i see this has gotten lost in the chaff of heil hochul's unConstitutional and illegal behavior.

So what do these rulings mean for Americans caught behind new york's great wall of tyranny?

The "assault weapon" ban is null.
Magazine limits are null.
And the Supreme Court upheld (again) that it is our Right to carry for defense.

It means that in those areas (9th 3rd and 4th respectively) magazine bans and awb are to be ruled unconstitutional.

This has no immediate impact on NY (2nd Circuit) but it is going to set legal precedent for future litigation in other areas, like here in NY

then the governor and staff have no protection .. its only for LEO

So my wife and I travel for business and stay at motels. If the motel doesn't have a "permission sign" we're not allowed to have a firearm at that location. Going to be even more interesting for women who travel alone. Think I'll identify as the NY governor and request NYSP armed guards outside all night.

The NY/CA overreaction might actually be a good thing in the long run.

If we can get this back to SCOTUS while we've still got the same 5 justices we could get a ruling that you can't restrict firearm ownership anywhere you don't actually have controlled access (i.e. metal detectors and guards) because otherwise you are arbitrarily restricting the rights of the law abiding people while doing nothing at all to prevent criminals from bringing in guns.

This, I think is the general consensus among the armed. It's a question of who will be taking one (or taking several, or many?) for the team in order to facilitate the SC showdown.
