I don't have calipers thoughDawson has awesome info on how to measure your front sight and how to determine what height you need based on results when shooting it.

What is tge Ronin exactly? As in how does it fit into the lineup? Also Garrison vs Range Officer?I just picked up a Springfield Ronin govt model in 9mm and a garrison govt model in .45 ACP.
The range Officer has wide seriations on the front and rear of the slide. What is tge Ronin exactly? As in how does it fit into the lineup? Also Garrison vs Range Officer?
What are you comparing them to to claim they have terrible triggers? The range Officer has wide seriations on the front and rear of the slide.
the garrison has narrow seriations on the rear of the slide.

Roy Huntington, editor of American Handgunner, has some funny ideas. One is we writers should earn our remuneration. I had to look that word up in the dictionary. Another is we should at least have a minor knowledge of handguns developed in the 20th century. I do a lot with revolvers but not so...www.thearmorylife.com
The ones I build. They are better than Glock triggers but the garrison and Ronin models have a lot of creep and all of them have a heavy trigger pulls. The ones I build tend to have 2 1/2 to 3 pound triggers. I will take care of these eventually but I really haven’t seen a good trigger on a factory gun in a long time. What are you comparing them to to claim they have terrible triggers?
Looks like the freedom series gold is a USGI model Like @Podmonkey is looking for.Have you considered Fusion firearms? My father in law has one and it’s a damn fine looking gun. This is the guy who started Dan Wesson firearms and sold out, but started a new company. It’s a good bang for the buck and what I would consider semi-custom guns.
I’m not sure what finish is on my FIL, but it’s a great finish. His is 9mm and he says shoots great and he’s a picky SOB that’s half blind and had thumb surgery. If he can hit the bullseye you can.

That's kinda apples and oranges though. Comparing a custom job to a mass produced firearm that is. I'm in the middle of an AK build right now and it's tight as can be. I can sit and tinker with it days on end to make it "perfect". IMO the RO has a very good trigger. Tight, no creep and adjustable. Certainly better than the rattle trap Remington R1 I have. That has a "terrible" trigger. Then again I guess it's all subjective. The ones I build. Not really, a trigger is a trigger. It is either good or not so good. Doesn’t matter who did the work it is either good or it is not. That's kinda apples and oranges though. The factory trigger in my 10mm RIA is a whole lot better than the three Springfields. A lot of people consider the RIA the bargain basement of 1911s.
the Springers will get a stoning job and new ambi safeties eventually but, I have a secret agent to build first. I have 17 projects lined up so I will be busy for a while.
I pick up factory guns for shits and grins. I have started to trade guns I don’t shoot or are not too fond of for something I may shoot eventually. Part of my downsizing strategy. It frees up space and scratches the new gun itch at the same time. I will probably pick up a staccato or a nighthawk custom that way. I just cannot see sliding that much cash across the counter but 5-10 guns I don’t use is more palatable. They are nothing special to me but all the cool kids want one so…..
The RIA guns aren’t so junky anymore. I really like their tac series.I've been wanting a RIA 10mm, but cant justify the price my local GS wants for it( $750) for a few hundred more I can get into something better, I think. Although that price is for an Ultra.
Thanks Saltwater. On further research, the one I was offered is a Rock Ultra FDE cerakoted model. I was thinking if I get it, I'd see about ordering a few Wilson combat mags to go with it as well. The RIA guns aren’t so kinky anymore. I really like their tac series.
Nice looking gun for sure.View attachment 143233
I think this one started life out as a 9mm, I bought the stripped frame on gun broker and mated a .45 slide assembly.
