My crappy county executive was saying today it will increase our electric bills by $69.00 per month. Of course he said he’s trying to confirm it and has reached out to others to verify. He’s a liar and this is surely for political gain no one’s electrical bill is $400 per month because you have to factor in taxes, surcharges, and delivery fees.

And we're electric everything.

We get there now between the payments on the solar and the electric bill, but that's also covering all our transportation too.

Well, at least it's going into warmer weather. Our bill usually runs close to $400 a month in the colder months, and has since 8 years ago when we lived in a city. New place is a brand-new energy efficient home and still ran that much. Fridge, freezer, electronics, hot water tank, furnace, and the dryer.

Ya know, like Obama's health care system, Biden's everything, Covid.... The rich don't care about this because they have money, people like myself are going to suffer, and those in a really low economical way are screwed. Not saying give in, but this new group in the WH sure as shit aren't doing anything to help the middle and lower class. I'm feeling severe deja vu where I should be feeling relief.

But he's not saying that. For all I know the plan is for Trump is going to have the government pocket that money and not use the incoming tariff money we're making to help out ordinary people. It's a tax we're having to pay essentially without any benefit.

I've seen ZERO concern for how he is going to offset the pain to regular people.

That's my issue. Last run, he was trying and did right by America as a whole. This time, he's forgetting the people who turned away from the left and voted for him because they needed relief from price gouging and a severely high cost of living, especially in states like NY where the cost of living is already hard to deal with for many people. We need the economy to lower and stabilize, not keep increasing. Part of what is/was killing the US is the extremely high cost of living. We would not have survived another 4 years of Bidenomics, and Trumponomics isn't looking better. Hell, with the 300% increase last month because of these tariffs, I am barely affording my heart and other medications. I simply don't see this going well for anyone not making 6 figures.

I hope all of this works out, and I too am sick of other countries screwing the US over. A lot of costs could be cut if we stopped being everyone else's protector. Let these other countries do their own fighting. War only makes the rich richer and the poor poorer. We need to stop funding the rebuilding of other countries and start focusing on the United States. It's supposed to be MAGA, not MEEGA (Make Everyone Else Great Again). You don't see other countries jumping in to help us get rid of our terrorists, or donating billions to us to rebuild our infrastructure. Some of this is more like cutting off the nose despite the face. A large part of our debt is due to giving all our resources including money to other countries. It bears repeating that a huge chunk of our debt would go away if our government actually put America first.
Trump can't run again, so he's got nothing to lose. But, the US citizens do. Right now, most people feel nothing will change, and the facts and actions point to things getting worse. When a lot of Americans can't afford medical needs, there's a problem. In Jan. most medications jumped at least 300% in cost. That's a huge issue. Most people won't see it unless you have to take medications daily. So you'll have to pardon me if I say and feel things need to be done a little faster than a four year plan. I am far from being alone with that sentiment.

The thing is younger generations are paying into this system at unfair rates due to past bad behavior. It shouldn't be our responsibility to fix what was fucked by those who did the wrong thing. The cost of these past debts shouldn't fall solely at the feet of younger Americans to mop up.

What I know is my costs are going up. My salary isn't keeping pace, even though it's increasing, given the cost of goods. And the idea that any government program I pay into now will ever pay out to me is laughable.

We need to make some big fucking changes. People who are competent to raise them are not even remotely interested in having kids overall. We will not have a country or a population worth shit if we don't give younger generations some hope and relief. There is no more blood for the stone.

Cut the fucking spending. Keep money in people's pockets, or the economy is going to tank. That means hard choices across the board. Military, social nets, and absolutely no more foreign aid bullshit. The well is dry.

Income taxes are essentially a middle class thing.

The poor care about money.

President Trump isn't going to be subsidizing anything, for awhile. What "we the people" need to do is settle in for a few months.

No one, absolutely no one can fix the economy briben left the country in, overnight. Give it a couple months, and see how this shakes out. I like where President Trump is going with this, I like his plan.

I do not see it. They have claimed to save 110 billion in 2 months. Even if they continue at that rate and its actual real money, thats 700billion or $4K ish per taxpayer. Do they bribe us with our own money or actually use that money to pay down the debt?

Our deficit is about 900 billion right now.

So if they cut $900 billion, that just gets is to break even.

That's like getting your household budget down to where you aren't charging more to your credit card each month than you are paying off.

And right now we're paying even more than that as interest on the debt.

So, what they *should* do if they cut $700B is just keep digging because we need another $200B just to break even.

But they won't. For political reasons, most Americans won't ever see the drop in the deficit and they just don't care about it.

So, I suspect they are going to kick some of that savings directly back to the taxpayers.

Gas is still $3.19/gal ($3.12/gal if you use their "tracking you" card first). Eggs are still ~$6.50/dozen.
