What is your something special.. mine is probably the first one in NY

Ive waited over 2 months in good old Orange County.
Anyone have any updates on amendment time in OC as of late?

Almost 5 weeks now since I sent an amendment in. I stopped in the pistol permit office (in the new Gov't building which is awesome) and was told that my judge (Judge Freehill - who is great) is on the horse barn fire case and will be done w/ it soon. When he's done he's going to go through all amendments real fast.

I call BS! I was told personally by Judge Freehill that he signs amendments as they come into his office.
More likely, either the Clerk's office 'misplaced' it, or everyone there took vacations at once.
I would say chances are they misplaced it...But I'm waiting on 3 different amendments

My friend has Freehill and has been waiting almost 7 weeks and he has 4 amendments in. He is friendly with some of the people in the clerks office and he was told the same thing that Freehill is just not signing now. I’ve heard eventually the Sheriffs Dept may be handling amendments instead of the Judges so we’ll see.

The Sheriff's office, with the help of the the Clerk, has been trying to weasel more and more control of the permit process. The Sheriff says all the pro gun things, but the under sheriff is anti gun and will tell you so in almost as many words if you talk to him for any length of time.
The Sheriff's office also has a history of making problems for people they have had disagreements with. I don't trust them to control the pistol permit process.

Been over 5 weeks now with nothing. This is really messed up, we seriously need a new system here

The county clerk is running for the state senate. Give her a call and let her know you think this reflects poorly on her.
