43 days and counting. Over 6 weeks waiting for my "pro-2a" judge in my "pro-2a" county to sign a piece of f&#king paper.

When I called a couple of weeks ago she said it's on the judge's desk so either the lady in the clerk's office is a liar or the judge is dragging his feet.

I've talked to the judges. I've talked to people who clerk for the judges. The judges typically turn amendments around in a day or so. The rest of the wait time is because the clerk's office drags their feet processing the amendments.

FYI... Neuhaus isn't involved directly with pistol permits. But he does work closely with the clerk and sheriff. He also (with the legislature) controls their budgets.

Amendment arrived Friday the 11th. 53 days for an amendment from our new, pro-2a county clerk. What a joke.

On the clock, dropped amendment paperwork at the Stewart post office. I figured with the holiday on Monday it should get there on Tuesday anyway.

Don't count on it. The last one I mailed from the Broadway post office. I shipped a package to Kentucky at the same time. The package was in Kentucky before the envelope made it to Goshen by way of White Plains

Orange County Ammendment has never taken more than 2 weeks for me.
My current ammendment mailed 2/10; check posted 2/16; arriving in today's mail 2/24.
2 weeks door-to-door.
Nothing but high praise from me for the OC Sheriff Dept., Civilian Training Dept., and County services.

I'm guessing you're new at this and got lucky once. Or you know someone better placed than I do.
My longest wait was 5 months. For an amendment. Shortly after Annie Rabbit got the Clerk job.
They told me 4 to 6 weeks when I dropped off the last one

Don't know anyone. Not lucky. Not new. 3 ammendments in the last 10 months took that long.
I mail it in, include a note that says 'thank you,' don't call or pester them, and get my ammendments in 2 weeks.

Mailed 2/18, check was cashed 2/28. Doesn't look like it will be 2 weeks. Definitely know that my last 3 amendments have averaged about 30 days from when check was cashed.
I've both dropped and mailed my last couple of amendments and I think dropping off only saves a day or 2. It's just a pain to gear down before go through the metal detectors at the government center and if you look at some of the clientele that frequent the parking lot there, I don't like leaving gear, even if it's locked up in the vehicle.

Came yesterday in the mail, signed 3/4 by Judge Brown. Total of 22 days, best turnaround in 5 years. I hope the clerks office has finally gotten their act together.
Still no reason for this to take as long as it does. You should go from store, to clerks office, check if license still good, add to card, pay fee and then back to store to pick up.
But of course it comes on a day when it's a snowing and the lgs closed early.

Just for kicks, I asked for a receipt for the $5 poll tax I had to pay. It took about 10 minutes of scrambling around before they could figure out how to print a receipt. Funny, but not reassuring on how my county handles my tax money.
I probably added 3 weeks to my wait.

It's unreal how ass backwards newyorkistan is. We moved to Florida last August. License recd in the mail 2 weeks after prints. The only hold up is the 3 day waiting period if you don't have a ccl, otherwise it's basically as long as it takes for the guy to do the background check and take your money.I just dropped one off.
