I suspected there was a history between these two after watching the video, and that the two shooting victims were most likely assholes that pushed their luck just a bit too far. It is unfortunate the shooter could not walk away but as you mentioned there comes a time when a person will simply snap and not take abuse any longer. Thanks for the background information.
I think this video is symbolic of what is going to happen in this country in the very near future. Conservatives, libertarians or people that just want to be left alone are going to be pushed and abused by a vengeful democratic party. Look at what has happened in the past two weeks:
- the second trump impeachment
- the proposed gun laws
- the "suggestion" on msnbc that domestic terrorists (i.e. trump voters) should be taken out by drones
- the continued stationing of troops in DC
- the purge within the military of people with the wrong beliefs
You get the picture. Do you think this type of behavior won't continue as these arrogant pricks in washington get emboldened each new week?
At some point in time people are going to snap. And the result won't be pretty.
The violence this summer is easily going to surpass what we saw last year.

Not for nothing, but when I was in the Police Academy, in a different time, (1970) an old-timer gave us some of his advice. He said Now understand this. You are going to be entering people's homes. You will observe a big old beer-bellied guy quietly sitting in a rocker drinking his beer and then see his tiny little wife sporting a fresh strawberry on her eye. (Bruise) You are going to feel sorry for her and want to rough up the husband. But let me tell you this. 99% of the time, the whole incident was her fault. He was referring to her always having to have the last word and bitching until the guy couldn't take it anymore. At 1:10 of the clip, you will see what I mean. He returns with a reload and approaches the woman. What he says next probably explains the whole thing. Just sayin.
Funny my take on that comment was shooter's gripe was with her husband and had she not said anything she'd still be above ground. The whole straw that broke the camels back argument flies out the window the moment he decided to pick up a gun and brutally murder two unarmed people. Obviously let his inner demons get the best of him and he'll forever be remembered as a cowardly murderer. Plenty of things he could have done before this came to pass no matter what the background. There was no imminent threat of deadly physical force or bodily harm he should have called the cops or a therapist or stood up to his asshole neighbor(s) long ago and settled the dispute fairly.
There you go making sense again and ruining this whole thread.

Maybe, but if she was bitching about the guy shoveling his snow in the street and then after the name-calling started, the husband knew that if he didn't respond he would have to take the brunt of her bitching at him for the rest of the day and evening. Why didn't you say something! he called me a bitch! You should have punched him. etc. I will give the husband credit however, Look who was shoveling his driveway.

Nothing justifies it, Just trying to make sense of it.If the "but she was REALLY annoying" posts were supposed to show that words might be justified in being met with shooting I guess they failed.
IMHO bullies suck. And I have run into my share of them in my life. Most of us just want to be left alone to live our lives, free of some asshole fucking with us on a daily basis just for their own sick twisted gratification.
Today, you really can’t settle things in a way that the bullies will get the message: leave me alone! Too many BS lawsuits or criminal charges to deal with.
But I am reminded of a certain bullying asshole from my youth. He constantly picked on anybody and everybody he could, starting in 3rd grade. Karma eventually caught up to him in the 5th grade. One day during gym class outdoors, he came up and attacked several of us, myself included, while we were at the far end of the field. And on that day, things changed forever.
We counterattacked, beat the shit out of him. We broke his arm, and kicked him in the head and body enough that when we were done, we left him there in a crying lump.
He was in a cast for a couple of months. He never ratted us out,- but he kept his distance from us the rest of his school days. Nowadays, he still lives in the same town. He is a janitor. And he doesn’t raise his voice to anyone. I don’t feel the least bit sorry for him either.

I can appreciate the guys anger if he had to tolerate these people daily. But you cant kill people if they're assholes. I dont condone what he did , But I can understand it. Im sure he felt he couldnt kick the guys ass and the frustration mounted. Im a big believer in martial arts for this reason . Even if you dont clearly win , You made a point and you wont backdown.
